Greetings!

I recently read a post in the “NORSUnian” Facebook page about how Negros Oriental State
University is hiring for a digital illustrator for their media publications. I would like to convey
my enthusiastic interest in applying for the position. I am Von Spencer A. Sabanal, a person who
has a keen eye for visual storytelling, and has been in the field of arts & design for over 5 years.

In addition to my background in making digital illustrations, I have been involved in other

different fields of visual arts (charcoal rendering, graphite sketching, acrylic painting, and
watercolor painting). A senior artist with a platinum award, in an ensemble (Kabilin Equipo de
Artista Visuales) in Negros Oriental State University Main Campus, and recently, a participant
during a national digital poster making competition (DOST 2024 DigiTelArt: college category).
These achievements have made me muster up the courage to take on a new challenge, and that is
to create informative digital illustrations in the academic field.

Throughout my years as a student artist, I have widened my vision in digital arts through various
competitions and interactions with different artist, acquiring a deeper grasp on making
illustrations through their experiences. Having both skill and understanding of how digital
illustrations work, is an edge over other candidates for this job. With that said, I should make me
a sizeable contribution to the university.
