branches, papers, and leaves.

Teacher- Paper Wind Pinwheels
Supervised Materials:
Activity
1. A square piece of paper (any size, but
6x6 inches is a good start)
2. A pencil with an eraser on the end
3. A pin (a push pin or a straight pin will
work)
4. Scissors
5. A ruler
Procedure:
1. If your paper isn't square, cut it into a
square.
2. Use your ruler to draw two diagonal
lines from corner to corner of your
paper, creating an X. You should now
have four triangles.
3. Cut along each line from the corners
towards the center, but stop about half
an inch before you reach the center.
4. Take every other corner (four in total)
and gently fold it towards the center of
the square. Be careful not to crease the
folds.
5. Once all four corners are in the center,
take your pin and push it through all the
layers of paper and into the side of the
pencil's eraser, making sure it's secure
but can still rotate freely.
6. Your pinwheel is now ready! Take it
outside and watch it spin in the wind.
Learning Points:
Make a small paper windmill that they culd play
during windy day.

Supervised Materials:
Activity
1. A large piece of poster board or
cardboard
2. Markers or colored pencils
3. A ruler
4. Stickers (optional, for decoration)
5. A calendar (to track the days)

Procedure:
1. Draw a grid on the poster board or
cardboard using your ruler and markers.
Make sure you have enough squares for
each day of the month.
2. Label each square with the date.
3. Each day, observe the weather. Is it
sunny, cloudy, rainy, windy, etc.?
4. In the corresponding square for that day,
draw a symbol or write a word that
represents the weather. For example, a
sun for a sunny day, or a cloud for a
cloudy day.
5. Continue this process every day for the
entire month.
6. At the end of the month, look at your
chart. Can you see any patterns? Was
there more rain at the beginning of the
month? More sun at the end?

Activities Game: Flying Fish Relay
Materials:
1. Balloons (one for each team, plus a few
extras in case they pop)
2. String or tape to mark start and finish
lines
Procedure:
1. Divide the players into two or more
teams. Each team should line up behind
the starting line.
2. Give the first player in each team a
balloon. This is their "flying fish."
3. On the count of "Go," the first player in
each team must keep the balloon in the
air using only their breath. They can't
touch the balloon with their hands, arms,
or any other body part.
4. The player must blow the balloon all the
way to the finish line, then turn around
and blow it back to the next player in
line.
5. The next player then takes their turn,
and so on, until all players have had a
turn.
6. The first team to have all players
complete the course is the winner!
