 Begin with a brief discussion about the community


 Show a picture of a community

Interactive Activity

 Individual Activity. Ask the students about the place where they
live.
 Group Activity Each group will use a map to find information
about their assigned province, focusing on the different things seen
in it.

Presentation

 Each group will choose one representative to present their findings


to the class.

 Discuss the different characteristic types of community


 Compare and contrast the different kinds of community
Analysis  Ask students to identify the commonalities and differences
between their own province and those presented.

Motivation

Introduction (10 minutes)

 Begin with a brief discussion about what a region is.


 Show a map of the Philippines and highlight the different regions.
 Ask the students if they know which region they belong to and
discuss briefly.
Activity
Group Activity (20 minutes)

 Divide the class into 3 groups and assign each group a specific
region.
 Provide each group with materials (pictures, maps, articles) about
their assigned region.
 Ask each group to say something about the pictures.

Group Presentations (20 minutes)

 Have each group present their poster to the class.


 Encourage students to ask questions and discuss the similarities
and differences between the regions.

Class Discussion (10 minutes)


Analysis
 Facilitate a discussion on the importance of understanding the
different regions.
 Ask questions such as:
o What are the three major island of the Philippines?
o Why is it important to learn about other regions in the
Philippines?

Abstraction Key Concepts (10 minutes)

 Summarize the main points from the group presentations and


discussion.
 Highlight the importance of cultural diversity and the unique
features of each region.
 Explain how the different regions contribute to the overall identity
of the Philippines.

Reflection (10 minutes)

 Ask students to share their own experience visiting the different


places of the Philippines

 Assign students to create a mini project about their region.

Let’s Keep in Mind


 Our community is composed of different people working together
 Places that compose a region are found near each other and share
common physical and cultural features.
Generalization  The Philippines is divided into 17 regions. These regions are
organized by the government. This makes it easier for the
government to provide services to the communities in the different
regions.
 Different region has a different culture and practices.

Instructions: Identify the region where the following groups of people can be found. Pp

Instructions: Interview your parents. Ask them if they went to a place in Luzon, Visayas
and Mindanao and ask their experiences from a trip. Write the information that you will
get from the story.
