At 0800H the MDRRMO of the

Municipality of Zarraga informs the
Chapter that an unknown number of
residents of Brgy. Libong Cogon has
preemptively evacuated to the Zarraga
Regional Evacuation Center. In relation
thereto they are asking for help if we
can assist them with our Hot Meals

Chapter deploys welfare team together

with a first aid team to look after the
internally displaced persons. Sends
Mobile Kitchen and Ambulance.

At 0930 a family member of the IDP

informs the team thereat that a family
member has reached out to them asking for assistance. There were 3 family members who remained
during the preemptive evacuation to attend to their livestock. They make mention that the water level has
reached critical levels and they now want to be rescued themselves.

0940 Chapter sends a team to assess the situation. Deploys rescue truck with a team equipped for rope
rescue. At the site, the team request for water assets as the 3 IDPs are actually located across the river
bank. Team with Rescue Boat is dispatched. At the crossing, the team will anchor and cross with the aid
of a line simulating strong currents.

All this while the welfare team is sorting the IDP’s and with our first aid team attending to them also.
Issuance of BENCARDs for the hot meals as well. Establishment of “libreng tawag” welfare desk.

After the 3 IDPs are secured, without injuries they are reunited with their families at the evacuation
center.
