PERSONAL STATEMENT

I believe that the foundation of learning comes down to the positive and constructive relationships built
between teacher and student. In my philosophy of teaching, it is essential that all children feel valued
and safe in their classroom, and that all student differences are valued and nurtured through the
support of their cognitive, social, physical and emotional well-being.

In my experiences, I have developed a keen interest in building inquiry-based learning activities where
students become discoverers of knowledge for themselves and construct deeper understandings
through their own wondering questions. I also believe in the importance of allowing opportunities for
students to develop their own learning goals and reflect on personal achievement to encourage
students to take responsibility for their own learning.

Through my studies and teaching experience, I have obtained valuable knowledge of the curriculum and
have an understanding of the ways in which curriculum areas can be integrated into more holistic
learning. I value collaboration with colleagues and make the most of the opportunities offered to me for
professional development. I am eager to be involved with extracurricular activities to deliver the best
possible experience for children.
