Back-lit type Lift Car Control Button

1. General Requirements

1.1 The back-lit lift car control button (hereinafter named as back-lit button) shall be a
measure to improve the visual legibility of the character / symbol on the button by
providing contrasting colour of lift car button before and after call
acknowledgement while the background lighting level of lift car shall comply
with the prevailing codes.

1.2 The back-lit button shall be illuminated on the character / symbol and the
surrounding edges. Tactile marking shall not be arranged with back-lit.

1.3 The colour of back-lit button inside lift car shall preferably be white and red
before and after call acknowledgement respectively.

2. Specific Requirements

2.1 A sample of the back-lit button shall be provided to the Architect’s Representative
/ Supervisor Officer Representative for approval. The Contractor shall not only
arrange demonstration on the operation performance (e.g. colour and brightness)
of back-lit button with test kit, but also on the actual performance under the effect
of background lighting within lift car.

2.2 Changing colour back-lit button shall be provided to floor buttons and door
buttons. Illuminated back-lit button without changing colour shall be provided for
emergency button (e.g. alarm button).

2.3 Back-lit button shall be durable for the intended usage.

3. Testing & Commissioning (T&C)

3.1 The Contractor shall submit, with recommendation from the supplier, a
comprehensive T&C procedure and check list to the Architect for approval.

3.2 The Contractor shall include the cost of all tests, necessary instrument, plant,
supervision and labour to satisfy all the requirements as specified and
recommended by the supplier for the supply, installation and T&C works. The
Contractor shall also carry out all additional tests as requested by the Architect to
demonstrate the compliance of this Specification.
