**AN ORDER PRESCRIBING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE BARANGAY PEACE AND ORDER
COMMITTEE (BPOC) IN ACCORDANCE WITH EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 366, S. 1996,
COVERING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY TO OCTOBER 2023**

**WHEREAS**, Executive Order No. 366, s. 1996, provides for the reorganization of the
Barangay Peace and Order Committees (BPOCs) to strengthen peace and order efforts at the
barangay level;

**WHEREAS**, it is imperative to ensure proper membership and representation within the

BPOCs to effectively address peace and order issues in the community;

**NOW, THEREFORE**, I, [President's Name], President of the Republic of the Philippines, by

virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws, do hereby order:

**Section 1. Composition of the Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC)**

The Barangay Peace and Order Committee (BPOC) for the period covering January to October
2023 shall be composed of the following members:

1. **Barangay Captain** - Chairperson

2. **Sangguniang Barangay Member** - designated as the Peace and Order Committee
Chairperson
3. **Barangay Tanod Chief** - Member
4. **Barangay Secretary** - Member
5. **Barangay Treasurer** - Member
6. **Representative from the Barangay Council of Women** - Member
7. **Representative from the Barangay Youth Council (SK Chairperson)** - Member
8. **Representative from the Barangay Lupon Tagapamayapa** - Member
9. **Representative from a Non-Government Organization (NGO) or People's Organization (PO)
operating in the barangay** - Member
10. **Chief of the Local Police or his/her representative** - Member
11. **Representative from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)** -
Member

**Section 2. Duties and Responsibilities**

The BPOC shall have the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Formulate plans and recommend measures to improve or enhance peace and order and public
safety in the community.
2. Monitor and coordinate the implementation of peace and order programs and projects at the
barangay level.
3. Submit reports to the City/Municipal Peace and Order Council on the peace and order
situation in the barangay and the activities undertaken by the BPOC.
4. Coordinate with law enforcement agencies in the implementation of peace and order
programs, including anti-criminality, anti-drug abuse, and human rights protection programs.
5. Promote citizen's participation and community involvement in peace and order activities.

**Section 3. Repealing Clause**

All executive orders, rules, regulations, and other issuances or parts thereof which are
inconsistent with the provisions of this Executive Order are hereby repealed or modified
accordingly.

**Section 4. Effectivity**

This Executive Order shall take effect immediately upon its publication in a newspaper of
general circulation or the Official Gazette.
