Dear Saif,
How are you? I want to share my visit to the wonderful food festival that took place
last February in Riyadh in Suadi Arabia. The event had people from 14 countries to
celebrate their delicious food. I really enjoyed it.
The food festival was a display of more than 50 traditional dishes from different
countries. The presentations and the taste were both perfect .There was something for
everyone to try. I ate Bobotie from South Africa. It is a nice dish made of meat cooked
with spices.
There were lots of people in the festival. I met Ali, who is from Egypt. He travelled
1496 kilometers to participate with a sweet cake called Basbousa. It was very tasty and
I bought some pieces for my family.
Overall, the food festival was a successful event. It was seven days of excitement and

Dear Mr. Ali,
I am writing to complain about a meal we had in your restaurant yesterday. My
family and I had booked a table for six but when we arrived, there were no free
tables and we had to wait for 45 minutes to have a table.
From a menu of 12 dishes, only three were available and their quality was poor.

Today I will share with you some amazing information I've collected about Orcas for
myscience project.
The orca, or "killer whale" is a toothed whale belonging to the oceans dolphin family.
Orcas have long, rounded black bodies that are marked with white spots on the bottom
and near the eyes.
Orcas are highly social animals. They travel in groups called pods. Pods usually consist
of 1 - 12 whales. Orcas feed on fish, squid, birds, and sea mammals like dolphins. The
average-sized orcas may eat about 111 kilograms of food a day.
Members of pods work together to catch a meal. They have many hunting techniques.
For example, they cooperate to collect fish into a small area so that they're easier to eat.
Orcas are found all around the world. However, they are mostly seen near the
west coast of America and Canada.
These mammals are highly intelligent and capable of learning complex tasks and
performing amazing tricks. They are friendly animals; they don’t attack people.

Hi Tina,
How is it going? Sorry for not writing sooner but I am really busy since I got back. For me,
last January was the best month of this year because I spent a lovely time with you.I want
to tell you about what happened to me in our kitchen.
Last month, my mother bought me a cookbook. The recipes looked easy, so one evening,
I decided to make pizza for dinner. I brought the ingredients and then I started baking the
pizza. I mixed flour, salt, and oil in a bowl. I was listening to music on the radio. It was
very loud, so I didn’t hear my brother when he came into the kitchen. He shoutedmy name
and scared me. The flour and water went all over the table and the floor. Luckily, my family

In my country, many people prefer to eat at restaurants because they are busy in work.

Dear Salim,
I am writing this email to tell you about a special food festival in my country
called “Pancake Day”.
Pancake Day is a very special day in the United Kingdom. UK started to

celebrate it in the 15th century for the first time. It is held on the last day before
Lent. Lent means to stop eating eggs and milk for 40 days. So, people take all their
eggs and milk to make thin round pancakes.
The most important ingredients are flour, eggs, milk and butter. Then, you can
add different flavours like honey, strawberries, bananas, chocolate or peanuts. In
Britain, they prefer to add lemon juice and sugar.
A great British tradition on Pancake Day is that of pancake races. Thepancake

races take place in many towns and villages. Each runner has a pan anda pancake.
During the race, the runners must flip and catch the pancake at least three times
without dropping it.
In the United States and France, Pancake Day is called ‘Mardi Gras’ which
means ‘Fat Tuesday’ in French. They call it because they eat lots of fats and calories.
The world’s biggest pancake was cooked in Rochdale in Britain in 1994. It was
a huge pancake. It weighed three tonnes.
