CAREER OBJECTIVE
To utilize my analytical skills acquired through my different levels of studies, to contribute towards the
development of the people through research, teaching and service to the society in the field of Science.

PROFILE

I am a versatile and hard-working person who has completed my Masters in Public Health (American
International University-Bangladesh), Executive MBA (IBA, The University of Dhaka) and Biomedical
Engineering (from the University of Sheffield, UK). I am in English Medium teaching covering Edexcel
and Cambridge curriculum for ten years now spanning six schools in Bangladesh and one school in
Malaysia. I have worked as a QA Technologist with good experience in operations and health and safety
having worked in two different factories-a pizza base manufacturer and a seafood manufacturer for more
than two years. I have 17 years of experience in the field of research with several publications including
one in a journal by Elsevier as well acceptance of abstracts in several international conferences. I have
good grounding in the field of diseases. I have a practical hands-on approach in that field. I always
persevere to achieve the best results. I am able to collect and analyse information, digest facts/figures and
quickly grasp complex technical issues. I have excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills and can
swiftly identify the root of any problem and can develop an effective solution. I have proven ability to
manage and complete projects to the highest standard, with a meticulous attention to detail and within
agreed deadlines. One of my greatest attributes is I can plan things to extreme detail. I am also known to be
a very enthusiastic, diplomatic and trustworthy individual who is very conscientious and courteous.

Yorkshire Forward supported us and the course was delivered by SYBEN alongside other professional
organizations like NHS, Covance, Smith and Nephew, Astrazeneca, GSK, Pfizer etc.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS & PLACEMENTS

Jun 2006- Sep 2006 - ICDDR, B Bangladesh


Second year summer internship was in ICDDR, B, a research centre in Bangladesh, looking at medical
machines such as Haematology Analyser and Ion Analysing machines.
Jun 2005 - Jul 2005 - Siemens Bangladesh
In second year internship worked at a project to analyse medical machines in Dhaka, Bangladesh, which
was a joint venture between Siemens Bangladesh and the newly opened Apollo Hospitals in Dhaka. Saw
how X-ray machines and CT scans work during this internship
Jul 2005 - Sep 2005 - National University of Singapore
In this internship worked under a PhD student at the National University of Singapore to see how people
are affected when they are deprived of sleep for 36 hours. It was a joint project between the Mechanical
Engineering department and the National University Hospital. fMRI and EEG were used in these
experiments.

ACHIEVEMENTS
 I achieved the Social Business Award from Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus in 2011.
 My most significant achievement to date has been the Sheffield Graduate Award, which was
awarded in final year, which highlights interest in extracurricular activities (July07).
 In my final year I have also obtained the Skill Build Award given by White Rose CETL Enterprise
for enterprising skills (May07).
 I also obtained the Skills for Work Certificate awarded by the Careers Service in final year
(May07).
 I was elected as a course representative for my course in the Staff-Student committee.

 I was elected as the secretary of the Bangladeshi Society of the University of Sheffield and so
have organised various events on behalf of the society (October06).
 I represented Bangladesh at my university (October05-July07).
 I was awarded ‘The Best Poster Award’ during Poster presentation in first year of studies
(December04).
 I won the Daily Star National award in Bangladesh, which was awarded to straight A students in
Bangladesh nationally (January03).

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SKILLS


I am proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. I have delivered presentations to lecturers and classmates
regarding issues such as dialysis machines. I have worked out coursework using Matlab and Ansys. I have
used Excel spreadsheets to deal with statistical problems in my university assignments. I have also used the
Internet for research purposes. I am well conversant with SPSS due to using it during MPH research.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS


 My most favourite interests include travelling. I have travelled to Nepal, India, Singapore,
Malaysia, Thailand, Maldives, Sri Lanka and US. I have lived in the UK for six years and in
Malaysia for one year and have explored all the nooks and corners of this place.
 I understand English, Bengali, Hindi and basic French and want to learn more.
