experienced individuals for the following position
SENIOR LECTURER- BUSINESS tenable in Gaborone
INFORMATION RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
(5 YEARS FIXED CONTRACT)

T
he Institute of Development Management (IDM) was
established in 1974 as a regional institution by the
Governments of Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini.
IDM has shaped futures of many Batswana with Executive
Development Courses and Long Term Training, and continue
to achieve its mandate through helping the public and private
organizations to meet their management needs through
Education, Training,Research and Consultancy Services. IDM
Botswana has campuses in Gaborone and Francistown.
IDM, therefore, invites applicants from suitably qualified and
experienced individuals for the above position:
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB IS TO:
To design, develop and deliver teaching and learning material
across a range of interdisciplinary programmes or within
a subject area. Senior Lecturers will undertake teaching,
training, research and consultancy to support the four pillars
of the Institute in accordance with institutional policies and
procedures. Furthermore, they will provide administrative
support as may be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for managing taught programmes, including
oversight of day to day operational processes.
• Designs, prepares, and delivers lecturers, tutorials,
remedial lessons, workshops, and seminars.
• Prepares teaching materials for lectures on scheduled
IDM courses for own and other departments.
• Teaches undergraduate and graduate Modules.
• Facilitate learners’ readiness to undertake projects and/
or practicums.
• Ensure that programme design and delivery comply with
IDM’s quality standards and regulations.
• Prepare and administers both formative and summative
assessment as per set standards.
• Provide leadership in the design and development of
credit bearing and non-credit bearing courses.
• Undertake the review of short-term credit bearing and
non-credit bearing courses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master of Archives and Records Management/ Information
Science or any other related qualification.
• Registration with Botswana Qualifications Authority
(BQA) as an Assessor and Moderator.
• Evaluation of qualifications by BQA
EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of five (5) years relevant teaching, research
and/or consulting experience is required.
• Participation in Research and Consultancy projects
• Undertaking assessment of student academic performance
(Setting and marking continuous assessment and exams)
will be added advantage.
• Teaching experience at Tertiary level
