Alongside the content for Paper 2, candidates develop a broad understanding of the Christian message found
in the Bible and its ongoing relevance for modern-day Christians. Although it will not be directly examined, it
is important for candidates to understand that the Old Testament texts are Jewish in origin and part of sacred
scripture for Judaism.
Although the paper is divided into seven topics, it should be noted that some of the content is common to more
than one topic. Questions may be set on these common content areas and may draw on more than one topic.
In addition to studying the nature of God, candidates should also reflect on what the specified Genesis text
teaches about God’s relationship with humanity, and its relevance for Christian belief and practice today.
