Thermometer)

There are Five different Elements of Weather

TEMPERATURE
Temperature is how hot or cold the air is. It is measured using a
thermometer. It is recorded in degrees Celsius (°C).

Min Max.

AIRPRESSURE
Air pressure is how heavy the atmosphere is. Pressure is
normally described as 'low' or high'. Low pressure is
caused by warm air rising and high pressure is caused by
cool air sinking. Looking at whether it's rising or falling
means you can predict weather. Pressure is measured
using a barometer which gives a reading in millibars (mb).

3) WIND Wind is the movement of air. Air moves from areas of

Wind vaneandAnemometer

Vane shows
wind direction
high pressure to areas of low pressure, so the wind
Anemometer
blows towards the area of low pressure. Wind speed shows wind
is measured with an anemometer. Wind direction is speed

observed by using a wind vane. The arrow points to Windrotatescups

where the wind has come from.

CLOUDS
Clouds are water droplets suspended in the atmosphere. They're formed
when water vapour condenses. You can't measure clouds using an
instrument -you just have to observethem. Thetype of cloud and the,%)

Don't get confused between weather and climate weather is the condition of the atmosphere
at a speci c time and place and climate is the average weather conditions ofa place.
