MODERATOR …………………….. MARK …………….

I being the facilitator at Nhangwi Primary School which is in Masvingo. The school is under

chief Zimuto in Zimuto area and is about 25km from Masvingo Town. It is in Masvingo

North District. The school is located near the main dust road and is about 5km from the tarred

road. Transportation of goods and services is much better and reliable as the main road is

always busy throughout the year. The site is suitable for the project as it is on the plateau of

Zimuto area. It is also of recommended distance from the residential houses. Moreover, the

project is suitable for school as it will be providing a lot to the school.

Domestically, the detergents are used in the homes for cleaning purposes. They are used in
households, schools, hospitals, canteens, hotels and guest houses. As general cleaning agents
are used to wash hands, dishes, household utensils, tiles furniture. The detergents such as
toilets cleaners and pine gel are of great use in school for cleaning toilets, classrooms and
laboratories. The projects suit best at school.

Industrially detergents are used

These detergents are also used in industries for cleaning and lubrication purposes. Products
are being sold and the money is used to boast the school kofas. The school is no longer
wasting large amounts of money in purchasing detergents, hence the costs are limited.

POSSIBLE PARTICIPANTS

The project is accommodating everyone. The facilitator is there to facilitator the production
of the detergents, and to provide fresh and relevant information to the projects. Learners
provide with services and labour in the production and as well as customers. The community
provide some ideas and also to buy the products. The community is the best and reliable
market, for the project. It also saves as a foundation background of the project.

NATURE OF THE PROJECT

The project is about detergent making. It is the production of detergents to save the school,
community and society at large. The project incorporates learners , who provide labour and
services. More so, the facilitator spearheads the project, by providing relevant information
and knowledge on and carried with great care to the site. Equipments need to be managed
with great care. The detergent and the waste product need to be disposed of carefully. These
surfactants are harmful to babies and pets so there is need for good security. Moreover, the
use of the chemicals needs more capital to keep on producing goods. The products produced
are being sold to the community members at as the project expands the market will also
extend even to the central business centre of Masvingo town.

POSSIBLE BEBNEFICIRIES

The project is of great benefit to the facilitator as she will have hands-on approach in the
teaching practice and is also in line with the new education system (education 5.0). The
project instils the spirit of innovation and industrialization to the facilitator, as she will do the
researches to come out with compatible products in the market. Moreover as the national
ambition to attain the middle income status, the project incited the spirit of entrepreneurship
in the facilitator and is going to continue and expand the business. Further studies and
scientific research will be done, thereby promoting and equipping the facilitator with better
knowledge in the production. Facilitator also has some allocations for household use.

Furthermore, learners at Nhangwi primary school h ad a great privilege of an additional

learning area in the science subjects. They have the hands on approach with chemicals and
gain experience for later use in future. The spirit of entrepreneurship is being cultivated in
them at a tender age and their thinking is industrially guided, fulfilling the national vision
2030. Learners also benefit the scientific skills of chemical handling and it will stimulate
learners to more discoveries. The project also work as a helping hand to the ministry of
education and community as it will lure learners to pursue the science subjects, hence
scientific innovation in the society. The project helps to nurture a business minded
generation, learners who are of more liability to the society than asserts. Individuals who are
job creators not job seekers, thereby reducing the number of criminals in the society.

POSSIBLE CHALLENGES

The most hindrance to the project is the financial issues. Capital is needed to buy chemicals
and equipment for use. Material is available at the nearby shop but sometimes there are
shortages and need to travel to bigger cities. More money for transportation and
communication is needed. In addition to that, insubordination is another issue to consider.
Some staff members may not comply with the project and to let the learners participate.

Fear of risk to health and safety issues also contribute to the insubordination by the members.
Since dealing with chemicals there is a threat to the environment as some of the chemicals
may cause harm to the environment if not disposed of with care. The excess remaining and
waste from the production need to be disposed of carefully to avoid harm to the environment,
pets and animals.

Moreover, there may be inconsistence of members within the group, as they will be having
challenge of the load in the school syllabus. The learners will be needed to participate in
other school activities, thereby leaving the project with less or even no one to attend to. The
school calendar also calls for school holidays where learner will go for about four weeks off
and it will affect the production.

Furthermore, there is competition in the market. More innovations are needed in order to
stand the ground in the market. Product innovation needs more scientific knowledge of
chemicals and researches. Also a strong and self-confident marketing team is needed to
market the new product in the market. There is also product permanence in the market, where
people are used to certain products and will resist the new products in the market.

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

In regard to the above mentioned limitations, the proper way is to pursue your dreams and
fulfil the vision. The barrier or threats need to be addressed by educating the members of the
project, holding training workshops, and equipping the subordinate with relevant and current
information on the market. Product innovation will help to produce quality products and raise
chances to stand against the competitors. Production of quality, good products which meet
the need of consumers is a good idea to remain and expand in business.

In addition to that provision of safe disposal bins will contribute to the safe keeping of the
environment, pets and animals. Emphasising safety precautions should be the first priority
when working with young learners. More so, provision of protective clothing like masks,
gloves, safety shoes is a necessity. Good programming and honesty in business also help the
project to remain constant and functional. Improved relations with workmates will turn their
negative minds and comply with the project. For the project to be grounded and strong must
have support from the local people.
RECOMMENDATIONS

For further production, I recommend that one has to have adequate knowledge about
chemicals and their composition in order to get rid of possible harm that may occur.
Precaution measures should be taken before the accident. More so ,dedication to work and
pursuing the vision always yields the best.
