PURPOSE: Recommendation for Gear Lubricating Oil / PC7000/6 added

DESCRIPTION:

Approved Gear Lubricants for Hydraulic Mining Shovels

Slew gears, travel gears and PTO gears installed in our products are high performance
units operating under high load and severe operating conditions at the mine site.
In order to ensure reliability, efficient operation and long service life of the gear units, the
use of the correct gear lubricants is a most important factor.
The attached lubricant charts contain all gear oils released by OEM. These lubricating oils
have passed extended field tests under close supervision of responsible service staff
before they got approval by OEM.
Experience has shown that the use of lubricants other than those approved by OEM have
led to premature wear and subsequently to a total breakdown of the gears. The resulting
downtime exceeds by far the costs for good quality lubricants as recommended by KMG.

• Komatsu Mining Germany GmbH recommends the use oils as
listed in the lubricant charts on the following pages for all slew
gears, travel gears and PTO gears installed in our products.
• The use of oils not approved by OEM will result in a loss of
warranty.
