What is the news all about:
The news is all about the passing of the SOGIE Bill in the Senate after of its
20 years of backburner. However, rally led by the various LGBTQ groups
because some of the legislators were opposed the said bill. LGBTQ groups
are shouting with the equality they want. No to discrimination, because what
they really want is to have an equal treatment especially on them. This Bill
will raise protection not just from them but for everyone specially on sexual
abuse and will raise then a gender development and awareness.
With no national law, can we rely on local ordinances to protect LGBTQs Coming out and coming of age outside Manila
against discrimination?

The news is all about on wanting to build and raise a family by the LGBTQ+
in the country. Despite this, the Philippines' Anti-Discrimination Bill, which
should provide everyone with fundamental legal protection from
discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression
(SOGIE), is the longest-running bill in the interpellation’s era. Even so, there
are plenty of LGBTQ+ Filipino families in the country, including gay fathers,
lesbian mothers, trans parents, and nonbinary guardians. For Pride Month,
LGBTQ+ families to demonstrate that family is more than just a mother, a

While much has been written about how the Philippines can close the gap
between tolerance and acceptance, the most significant step being the
passage of an anti-discrimination or SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender
Identity, and Expression) Equality bill, a recent survey suggests that we
may not even be at the tolerance level in the workplace. The passage of the
SOGIE Equality Bill, which seeks to prohibit businesses from using SOGIE
as a criterion for hiring, promotion, transfer, designation, dismissal, training,
privileges, and more, is especially timely. Companies will be legally forced
to transition to a more inclusive culture if such a bill is passed. Companies
that want to change to a more progressive and inclusive culture, according

include necrophilia and pedophilia. The proposed bill has been advocated in

in the workplace, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and public
areas, among other locations. It does not provide LGBTQ+ people particular
rights, but it does protect them from discrimination, according to Roman. It
is a contentious subject for religious organizations who believe that the
proposal, which was passed unanimously by the House of Representatives

What did you feel?
Upon reading the news articles, I felt disappointed first in the place of
the Congress and Senate. SOGIE Bill is one the most important
agenda that they need to take an action but upon reading, they seem
like no actions at all. Yes, there is a one point that we are in a
Christian country but, among the many countries that have already
implemented the same law, it is noticeably that our country feels like
hanging this agenda around. Also, sadly, we need to give them the
respect they deserve too, because they are human too. They need
the protection that is why the SOGIE Bill is being implemented to
give them concrete protection against people who do not accept
them in society.

As a youth, I believe that we are belong to the voice that needed to
hear. I think, I should spread awareness on how important the SOGIE
Bill are. I am agreed to some experts interviewed that SOGIE were not
only for the LGBTQ+, but is for everyone. I think it is an enough
movement the almost everyday that there are lots in the news reporting
to some sexual abuses and violence which is sadly happens mostly
from the ladies. With this, the Senate must wake up and must give
priority for this kind of violence. in this situation, it seems like that the
Senate has said that sexual abuse and violence are normal because of
their inaction in incidents like this which is very disappointing specially
to youth.

worth reading. This is the reason why I realize how important is this
Bill for our country to protect its people from the abuses and
violence. As they have said, this Bill is not just for the sake of the
LGBTQ+ community, because everyone has a SOGIE. No men,
women, transgender, lesbian, gay and others when sexual abuses,
violence and inequalities. As everyone has the right to have the
equal opportunities, access life to its fullest, living the normal life,
and most importantly no criticism and judgement are throwed at
you therefore, we need a LAW for the betterment of all.
