My Statement of Beliefs
The following are my personal beliefs that I firmly hold concerning gender and gender issues:

I believe that gender is… never have the control over how you shape your life. Biologically speaking, gender have only man and
women but the truth is, you will not underestimate how a person feels about their true color. Cosmetic surgery, on the other
hand, will never modify what is already imprinted into your genes at birth. Humans have been forced to serve a specific role in
society determined by their gender throughout history. Gender roles are interpreted differently in many cultures around the
world, but one constant is that men are superior to women. This ideal has been gradually reduced during the previous century,
but it has not been completely eradicated. Both men and women have socially acceptable norms. Conforming to a standard, in
my opinion, is the same as sacrificing one's originality. I respect my distinct qualities, and the only way to maintain them is to
remain genderless.
There are no limits to who a person can be when they rise above gender. It's like expecting a cat to be a horse; it doesn't make
sense. Gender is only an impediment that stands in the way of who you are within, as I have learnt from my life experience.
Being a male does not mean I have to be a man, and being a female does not mean they have to be a lady. Only when both
male and female individuals are treated equally can gender equality be attained. Discrimination, on the other hand, is a social
blight that causes division. We stop arguing and start working together to solve our problems. For ages, this societal stigma has
been creeping into the underbelly of society. This has also been observed in circumstances involving gender. Gender inequality
is a thing of the past, as men and women work together to make history in all fields.

I believe that a woman is… born who have a wide-range of abilities. Women have perplexed men for thousands of years, and I
believe in them. It is entirely up to a woman to work on a construction site, drive trucks, and spit loogies with the best of them.
What I believe in is the enormous spectrum of qualities that most women appear to be born with, abilities that keep the world
running, bound together, and without which men would perish. Most societies have treated women as second-class citizens for
thousands of years. Whether or not society recognizes it, women have always contributed as much, if not more, than males to
keep the world running. Where would the world be now if our ladies had not cradled it with their soft, caring hands? They stand
by men's sides during difficult times. Women have the tolerance and level-headedness to handle and resolve challenging
circumstances that can enrage a testosterone-fueled, irritable guy. Women, in addition to all of this, can be motivators. Their
beauty rivals that of any work of art. Although not all of our women have become adventurous, many have become social
climbers, social drinkers, and social go-getters. They are now constantly competing with men, sometimes even outperforming
them. Women today are found in all walks of life. They're now looking at a variety of topics. Sacrifice for family unity is already
minimal in this process. And as a result of these changes, Filipino women are now typically considered favorably by society as
a result of the significant contribution and effect they have made in their respective families, which remains the main and basic
value of a Filipino woman to this day.

I believe that a man is… already ignored nowadays as women becomes the focus of everything. It seems like men’s right have
shrink and women’s have already swollen. Men's issues are often overlooked, yet they deserve equal attention. I believe it for a
variety of reasons, all of which are founded only on facts. Before I go into detail about these reasons, I want to admit that
women have long been viewed as second-class citizens. Those years, however, are no longer. It's also uncommon for anything
regarding men being viewed as second-class citizens to be mentioned in a non-comical way. Many people believe we earned it
because of what we did to women. Giving birth is frequently mentioned when I bring up the disparity in treatment between men
and women. People frequently argue that women should be treated better because they are capable of bearing children. A
woman cannot have a child without the help of a guy. You could say it's because of the pain and suffering a mother goes
through in order to give birth to a child. Everyone, from a child to a kidney stone to a bullet, will experience excruciating agony
at some point in their lives. Rather of applauding a set of people for experiencing a specific form of pain and suffering, we
should treat all persons in agony equally. Gender equality is what I want, not male supremacy. If we continue to treat one sex
as if it is superior to the other, society will fall apart. We must abandon our sexism if we are to survive as a society. Now is an
excellent moment to begin.

I believe that intimate, marital relationship is for… man and woman who have been blessed by the church through marriage.
Yes, it is, that in the eyes of the church it is the acceptable reason that a man and woman have the intimate marital relationship
when they are already married. However, in the society, when man and women are lived-in most importantly that they already
have their children then, they can consider to be in marital status of relationship even without the bond of marriage. When you
take the time to purposefully engage with one another in your marriage, intimacy grows. It is critical that you adopt an active
rather than a passive approach to strengthening your marriage partnership. You can increase your intimacy by prioritizing deep
dialogue. Self-disclosure, emotional closeness, and understanding and care all contribute to a successful marriage. A strong
relationship is capable of teaching and learning from one another. The other most sought-after and valued aspect of an intimate
connection is care. As a result, it is an important topic for intimacy. Emotionalism frequently takes precedence over logic. Trust
is an instinct that is hampered in a relationship if it is not present. Genuine emotional support is sought in a relationship since
love is proof that emotional links exist. Truthfulness, loyalty, honesty, and commitment are the four essential elements of
intimacy. Different types of intimacy exist between a relationship, including verbal, sexual, psychological, spiritual, intellectual,
and emotional intimacy. All are part of the same bundle and are equally important if the couple is to win the game of intimacy.

I believe that the identity of a woman or a man is based on… their personality, what is their want, to whom they are attracted
to, their behavior, how to present themselves and all of the factors that may identify who really, they are. Due to gender roles,
we are supposed to act, speak, dress, groom, and conduct ourselves according to our sex in society. Girls and women, for
example, are expected to dress in traditionally feminine styles and to be polite, accommodating, and nurturing. Men are typically
thought to be strong, aggressive, and courageous. It then results to gender stereotypes which often treat them unequally,
treating them with bias just because of their biological sex which represent their gender. Women are frequently assumed to be
accommodating and emotional, whereas men are expected to be self-assured and assertive. Some people expect women to
care for the children, cook, and clean the house while men handle the finances, work on the car, and fix the house. Some
people automatically assume that teachers and nurses are female, whereas pilots, doctors, and engineers are male. Women
are expected to be slim and graceful, whilst men are meant to be tall and muscular. Men and women are also expected to dress
and groom in conventional gender-specific ways. Gender stereotypes are damaging because they prevent people from fully
expressing themselves and their feelings. It's unhealthy to male, for example, to believe that they can't cry or exhibit sensitive
feelings. It's also detrimental for women to believe that they can't be independent, knowledgeable, or forceful. Gender
stereotypes must be broken in order for everyone to be their best possible version.

PART 2 INSTRUCTION: Pangasinan State University (PSU) students have voted you to become the new president of the
Federated Student Government. Following this, an international organization has given you, as the president, a cash
amount of PhP 1,000,000.00 to fund a project that will respond to gender equality in PSU. What project are you going

II. RATIONALE
There are numerous difficulties that have arisen in today's society. One of the difficulties is gender roles, which should
be given more attention in order to foster healthier relationships and a more productive university. Any individual's role should
not be based on their preferred gender. As a result, if the possibilities are given evenly, collaborative minds of both genders can
bring forth the best. On the other hand, the gender role is influenced by several elements that contribute to role inequity,
preferential gender dominance, and so on.
GAD (Gender and Development) has been established with the goal of developing participative and empowering
perspectives and processes that are equitable, sustainable, violence-free, supportive of self-determination, and actualization of
human capacities and potentials. The workshop aims to eliminate gender stereotypes, which are prejudgments, biases, or
limitations placed on male and female duties and expectations. The target audience will become familiar with and respond to
the roles that both genders should play. As it continues to achieve the GAD aim, the trainings and awareness conducted by the
university through the Federated Student Government with the help of our partner institution would eventually result in a huge
influence. Besides, the construction of toilet facility intended for man, women and LGBTQ+ aims to lessen the discrimination
and enhance each self-confidence in a way that every student has the freedom to use the restroom without any hesitations at
all. Through this, we can be able to build expression and freedom among them and we can also express our helping hands to
felt with them that they are welcome in the university.
As a new elected president of Federated Student Government of our campus, I will make sure that the allocated
budget for this big and important project will be held at its purpose. Also, I will do my best to make this project successful and
meaningful.
