DRAFT RESOLUTION 1.

COMMITTEE: UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL

AGENDA: Deliberation on Human rights violence against the LGBTQIA+ community, with
special emphasis on empowering women and supporting refugees/IDPs

SPONSORS: Dominion of Canada, Republic of Albania, French Republic

SIGNATORIES: Republic of Finland, Kingdom of Norway, Italian Republic, Kingdom of


Netherlands, Kingdom of Denmark, New Zealand.

THE UNITED NATIONS HUMANS RIGHTS COUNCIL,

Acknowledges the right of every nation to defend its national sovereignty, and uphold its
religious, cultural and traditional beliefs,

Affirming our commitment towards ending inhumane malpractices that plague this world,

Bearing in mind that the life of an individual is important despite them being from
LGBTQIA+ community,

Deeply concerned about the people who have been forcibly displaced and faced human
rights violations,

Expresses its appreciation towards the countries which have implemented LGBT friendly
laws,

Alarmed by the ignorance of abuse and discrimination faced by LGBT individuals in the
name of religion and culture,

The United Nations Human Rights Council hereby resolves to,

1) Affirming the continuity of care and adoption an integrated case management


approach for service provision for LGBTQIA+ persons;

2) Suggesting the formation of International Helpline Centers for the LGBTQIA+ group
i) Forming safe spaces, especially women to support them
ii)Forming groups to provide financial and healthcare assistance to such individuals;

3) Condemns all Member States from criminalizing the LGBTQIA+ community and
passing Anti-LGBT laws;
4) Draws attention towards the empowerment and uplifting of women within the
LGBTQIA+ community;

5) Calls upon States to develop and implement adequate legislation with special
attention towards the discrimination faced by LGBTQIA+ persons while exercising
their Fundamental Rights
i)Criminalising hate speech and hate crimes on basis of sexual orientation and
gender identity
ii)Recognizing same sex relationships and providing them with the same benefits as a
heterosexual couple
iii)Assist troubled LGBTQIA+ individuals and navigate them through the law;

6) Stresses to take stringent measures to prevent torture, trafficking and other forms of
inhumane treatment on basis of sexual orientation and gender identity;

7) Encourages States to provide universal education, access and protection in


educational sectors regardless of one’s sexual orientation or gender identity;

8) Requests all nations to not deny refugees and asylum seekers on basis of their sexual
orientation and gender expression;

9) Strongly suggests nations to not ignore inhumane treatment suffered by LGBTQIA+


individuals in the name of cultural, religious or traditional preservation;

10) Further invites all nations who support the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community to
create a different International organization
i)To monitor and inspect Human rights violations within the LGBTQIA+ community
ii)To pass legislations preserving the Fundamental rights of LGBT individuals
iii) To provide justice and security to LGBT individuals who have suffered violence,
abuse and other forms of degradation.
