Reason for Consultation Pain in the fourth and fifth toes of the right foot.
Consultation Date: 07 June 2023

Patient referred by their physician to podiatry consultation for biomechanical gait assessment due to right
foot pain.

The patient complains of pain in the fourth and fifth toes of the right foot when running and after running.
Personal history: hallux valgus and right ankle surgery.
In relief decreased mobility in metatarsophalangeal joint and ankle flexion.
In load increased fick angle, loss of MLA, valgus hindfoot, divergent knees.
During gait, she performs gait in abduction with excessive pronation, which overloads the flexor
digitorum brevis muscle and the fifth toe abductor.

Diagnosis: Pes planovalgus, muscle overloading.


Treatment: insoles to control the pronation and stabilize the gait.
