Pulmonary Mycoses

• Pulmonary mycosis is frequently detected in present day practice

because of increased number of immunosuppressed and
vulnerable people, increasing knowledge toward such infections,
and advancement in laboratory detection methods.
• Detection of airway infections using bronchoscopy employs
sputum sampling, transtracheal needle aspiration,
bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) with a bronchoscope, and lung
biopsy.
