WEDANG UWUH
Vitri Yuliany – @_vitrea_, Jakarta

In Javanese wedang means drinking and uwuh means garbage. It goes without saying
that the ingredients for making wedang uwuh do not include garbage! But because of the
special blend of the ingredients, this drink looks like garbage swimming in water.

The ingredients include secang wood, cinnamon, ginger, clove, nutmeg leaf, lemon grass
root and cardamom. When one considers the natural ingredients, wedang uwuh has
many health advantages, ranging from reducing cholesterol to blood circulation benefits
to antioxidants. Wedang uwuh is delicious served hot or warm, has a sweet taste thanks
to the candy sugar, is hearty, has a bright red color, and features a distinctive aroma of
spices.
