Some great man said ~ “Life is like accounting; everything must be balanced.” This quote sums
up my view on finance and its importance. A crucial moment in my life that made me pursue
commerce as a stream in class 11th was an internship in a CA firm as the summer vacation
holiday homework given by the school. I was told to assist in auditing a client’s financial
records. The experience of working with professionals, understanding the complexity of finance,
and contributing to ensuring the accuracy and transparency of financial statements was inspiring.
This exposure to real-world financial operations and accountants' critical role in maintaining
financial integrity solidified my passion for commerce. During this internship, I realized how
impactful and essential a chartered accountant's role is, inspiring me to pursue this path.

My interest in commerce and finance deepened through my academic experience. The subjects in
my course such as mathematics, economics, and accountancy gave me further knowledge of
basic financial principles. My interest in all these subjects further increased when I reached class
12th. A particular project was my study on stock market analysis using candlestick charts in my
Business Studies class. This project involved learning about the different types of markets and
the mere knowledge of timings of market movements such as bearish market and bullish market.
These patterns helped me understand market psychology and the importance of technical
analysis in trading. This made me want to try trading once in my life when I reach the age that a
person is eligible to handle trade on their own and demonstrate the practical applications of
financial theories.

During my internship at the CA firm, I was involved in a variety of tasks that provided me with a
comprehensive understanding of the accounting profession. I was allowed to take a proper look
at bookkeeping, financial reporting, and auditing processes. This task made me even more
confident about my theoretical knowledge and practical skills such as journaling and making
ledgers. This gave me valuable insights into the practical applications of accounting principles
and the importance of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting.

Beyond my internship and academic projects, I have actively tried to look for YouTube videos
and further internship opportunities to deepen my understanding of finance through various
extracurricular activities. I participated in an online financial literacy certificated internship
where I was taught by an international career counselor financial mentor. This experience
enhanced my understanding of stock market dynamics and risk management. Additionally, I
participated in water audit workshops organized by my school, where I learned about personal
finance management, tax planning, and investment strategies for the school. These workshops
were instrumental in providing me with practical knowledge that complements my academic
studies. These diverse experiences have enriched my understanding of finance and reinforced my
commitment to pursuing a career in this field.

As said by Mr. Prime Minister Narendra Modi of our country a chartered accountant’s signature
holds a greater influence than a pm’s signature and calls chartered accountants as ambassadors of
any country's economic system. Hence I wish to pursue my undergraduate studies at Ramjas
College or Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) because these institutions are known for
their esteemed faculty in commerce and finance. They have great teachers and a strong academic
reputation. The diverse student community and many extracurricular activities will help me learn
and grow even more. This education will give me the skills and knowledge to help improve my
country's financial sector and support economic growth.

My long-term goal is to become a Chartered Accountant who can contribute significantly to

organizations' financial health and growth. I aim to work in a leading accounting firm or a
multinational corporation, applying my knowledge to optimize economic performance, ensure
compliance, and drive strategic decision-making.
