REQUISITE DOCUMENTS FOR INDEPENDENT WORK VISA

Entry visa for independent work (under quota) is granted to:

 Businesspeople who will carry out an entrepreneurial activity of special interest for the Italian economy.
Applicants will have to submit a “business plan” to the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and
provide evidence of possessing not less than 500,000.00 euro and the business should create not less
than three employments
 Businesspeople who are establishing an innovative start-up in Italy www.italiastartupvisa.mise.gov.it
 Independent professionals belonging to specific professional categories as established by the Italian
Ministry of Economic Development
 Corporates executives and board members
 Worldwide well-known artists and celebrities
DOCUMENTES REQUIRED
 Application form duly filled in block capitals. Applicant must sign the visa application form on
submission. The visa application form can be downloaded from this website
 Two recent colour passport-size photographs (white background), size 3.5 x 4.5 cm. As to the technical
specification, see the relevant document. Photographs should not be stapled on the application form
 Passport valid for at least 18 months beyond the expiry date of the expected trip, with two empty pages
 Colour photocopy of the passport page containing holder’s data
 Colour photocopies of any previous and current visa (if applicable)
 Non-Nigerian nationals living in Nigeria have to submit copy of the Nigerian Residence Permit

A. DOCUMENTATION RELATING TO THE PURPOSE OF THE JOURNEY

 Registration certificate (C.C.I.A.A.) in the register of enterprises and, in case of a foreign employer, with
an analogous attestation certified by the competent Italian diplomatic-consular Representative (in case
of a contract with the customer abroad)
 Availability of a suitable accommodation
 Copy of the "Dichiarazione di Responsabilità" (Declaration of Responsibility) previously issued or sent
by the customer (or by his legal representative) to the competent "Direzione Provinciale del Lavoro,
Servizio Ispezioni Provinciale del Lavoro", which indicates that by virtue of the stipulated contract, no
contract of "lavoro subordinato" (subordinate work) will be established
 "Nulla Osta" (authorization) issued by the Questura (local Police) of the town where the activity will take
place
 A work contract, with which independent workers are assured of a compensation superior to the
minimum level provided by the law for exemption of the participation of health expenses (Euro 8.400)
 Copy of the income last balance sheet deposited with the register of enterprise (capital firm), or of the
last declarations of revenue (firms of persons or individual enterprise)

APPLICANTS SHOULD NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

 The Consulate General of Italy reserves the right to demand for any additional document if deemed
essential.
 All the documents should be provided in original and copy. Original documents (except bank
statements) will be returned to applicants while copies will be kept with the visa application.
 Any forged/fake document or passport submitted will not be returned to the applicant who will be
prosecuted in the Italian and the Nigerian Court.
