Title: TIME AND AGAIN

SYNOPSIS
This project explores Jack Finney’s novel “Time and Again,”
focusing on its themes of time travel and history. The story
follows Si Morley, an artist from the 1970s, who joins a secret
government project that allows him to travel back to 1882
New York City using hypnosis and historical settings. The
novel describes his adventures in the past and the impact of
his actions on both his life and history.
The project will also include a comparison to Jack Finney’s
short story “The Third Level,”. In The Third Level, Charley
discovers a hidden third level at Grand Central Station that
leads to the year 1894. Both stories explore the idea of
escaping modern life by traveling to the past. And how time
travel works in both stories, the detailed descriptions of the
past, and why the characters want to leave their present
lives.
This project will show how jack Finney explores themes such
as history, memory and desire to escape modern life through
time travel. by comparing “time and again” and ‘The third
level”, it shows how Jack Finney skilfully combines science
fiction and historical details, linking the past and present in
unique ways.
