What are Venn diagrams?

A Venn diagram is a type of chart that uses circles to show the
properties that different items have (or don't have) in common
An item sits inside a circle if it has the properties described by that
circle
Any items outside a circle do not have the properties described by that
circle. Some items may not be inside any circles
The circles in a Venn diagram often overlap. An item in an overlapping
region will have the properties of all the circles it is a part of.
