Lacy Hearts Beret

Worked in the round, this lacy hat is

perfect for Valentine’s day or any other
special occasion. One size fits most.

Materials
Size 7, 16 inch circular knitting needles
Size 7, DPNs
Tapestry needle
DK or sport weight yarn

Stitches Used
K – Knit
P – Purl
YO – Yarn Over
K2TOG – Knit Two Together
SSK – Slip Slip Knit
CDD – Centered Double Decrease

Pattern
Cast on 96 stitches.
Rows 1-5: *P1, K1* to end of row.
Row 6: *YO, CDD, YO, K2TOG, YO, K4, YO,
SSK, K3, YO, SSK* repeat to end of row.
Row 7 (and all odd numbered rows): Knit.
Row 8: *YO, CDD, YO, K, YO, SSK, K,
K2TOG, YO, K, YO, SSK, K, K2TOG, YO, K*
repeat to end of row.
Row 10: *YO, CDD, YO, K2, YO, CDD, YO,
K3, YO, CDD, YO, K2*
repeat to end of row.
 Row 12: *YO, CDD, YO, K2, K2TOG, YO, K5, YO,
SSK, K2* repeat to end of row.
Row 14: *YO, CDD, YO, K1, K2TOG, YO, K7, YO,
SSK, K1* repeat to end of row.

Repeat rows 6-15 two more times. Then work rows

6-11.

Row 42: *CDD, K2, K2TOG, YO, K5, YO, SSK, K2*
repeat until end of row.

Row 43 (and all odd numbered rows unless otherwise marked): knit until last stitch, begin next row here.
Row 44: *CDD, K2TOG, YO, K7, YO, SSK* repeat until end of row.
Row 46: *CDD, K4, YO, SSK, K3* repeat until end of row.
Row 48: *CDD, K1, K2TOG, YO, K, YO, SSK, K1*
repeat until end of row.
Row 50: *CDD, K5* repeat until end of row.

Row 55: K1, CDD, K1, CDD, K1, CDD - 6 stitches
in row.

Cut yarn with 4-6 inch tail. Thread yarn through

remaining 6 stitches. Pull tight, tie off, and weave
in ends.
