SOURCES - WHO’S WHO?
DOCS TEAM NOTE: The source list below is not meant to be an accuracy chart, but more of a key you can use while perusing. You
may want to only see information from the Trades - so they are color coded, etc. This MasterDoc is only a compilation of the leaks
and rumors out there for us to ponder over. Providing all possible information allows us to see threads of possible fanfiction or
possible truth - where it originated, who keeps spreading it, etc. The MasterDocs are, in no way, endorsements of the cited
sources - only an effort to help you all stay in the know.

Disney/Lucasfilm - ● Direct from Disney/Lucasfilm (US/UK Accounts and Official Announcements), their
social media, their executives - No question that this is an official Star Wars
announcement or statement. This also includes links to official trailers, tv spots, stills,
etc.

The Trades - ● The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, Variety - Best to think about these three
publications like the middlemen between the studios and us; direct communication
with executives and insiders at Disney/Lucasfilm.

Prominent ● MakingStarWars, Bespin Bulletin, etc. - Star Wars leakers who regularly report on
‘Leakers’ - non-public leaks and rumors from their own sources, with a higher degree of accuracy.
-NOTE- Previous Rising ‘Leakers’ may be found in this category if they have provided
an overwhelming amount of accurate information (example: u/EconomicsLegal6989
for Ahsoka Season 1).

Industry ● Writers Guild of America, IMDb, Production Weekly, casting sites, agency sites,
Sites/Material - stunt sites, etc. - Resources with varying degrees of accuracy, with most run by those
not part of the studios with a varying amount of sources.
-NOTE- A source such as WGA should be viewed as ‘official’ in their writing credit
database.

Article/Interview - ● Vanity Fair, Entertainment Weekly, Empire Magazine, etc. - Video and article
interviews from non-trade publications or podcasts; talking with producers, creatives
and actors.

Other ‘Leakers’ - ● Entertainment leakers, with varying degrees of accuracy. In order to be in this
category, a leaker must have a platform they share their information on - whether this
is on social media, a subscription service, a livestream show, etc.

Rising ‘Leakers’ - ● This final category is for leakers who share small tidbits here and there, but are just
now beginning to gain a good reputation with accurate info from their sources. Users
such as u/PlayThenPause is one to look out for, as their leaks for Andor Season 1
proved to be correct. Significant, accurate reporting on two or more projects may see
a change in their category color.

Non-Highlighted ● These may include Wild Rumor Reddit users, links to set photos, actor tweets, actor
Citations comments at a non-Star Wars/Disney convention, International Disney/Lucasfilm
accounts, etc. Always be sure to check out each source for yourself.

Release info Timeline of release information:

● [November 20, 2022] Fall 2023 release. [MakingStarWars]

● [February 21, 2023] “[Bespin Bulletin] still believes Skeleton Crew will be released by the year's
end.” [Bespin Bulletin]

● [March 9, 2023] “Skeleton Crew is slated to release sometime [in 2023], and from what I’ve
heard that is most definitely still the case at this time, but it'll be much later in the year -
November/December.” [Bespin Bulletin]

● [April 7, 2023] 2023 release [Celebration 2023]

● [May 11, 2023] Jaleel White: “November, December [this year].” [Source, Interview]

● [July 3, 2023] January 2024, “projected date of publication”. [US Copyright Office]

● [July 20, 2023] “At this time, I still don’t know a concrete release window for Skeleton Crew. At
the time I reported on the delay, sources simply just pointed to 2024 with an unknown window
as many things were up in the air for various releases, though one mentioned that it could be up
to an entire year after its planned release. Currently I don’t have much clarity.
○ One source mentioned Spring as a possibility and another later in the year, but one
thing both had in common was that a January release was extremely unlikely, which
has been a rumour.” [Bespin Bulletin]
● [July 31, 2023] Skeleton Crew style guide (basically designs for shirt/poster merch) is dated “On
shelf May 2024”. [U.S. Copyright Office]

● [August 9, 2023] Skeleton Crew not present in a list of upcoming Disney+ releases. [Q3 Disney
Earnings Presentation] [Further context]

● [September 4, 2023] “Sources [say] delayed until an unknown time in 2024. [One source said it]
COULD be delayed by an entire year, looking at a November 2024 release, but I could not get
that information confirmed by a second source, so do not take that possible window as a fact.”
[Bespin Bulletin]
○ [November 27, 2023] MakingStarWars has also heard this. [Source]

● [September 13, 2023] U.S. Copyright office has a newer listing for a "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew
RETAIL GUIDE", dated for release in May 2024 like all the others. [U.S. Copyright Office]

● [October 3, 2023] “Early 2024” [u/EconomicsLegal6989]

● WILD RUMOR: [October 4, 2023] “One of reasons why they pushed Skeleton Crew to 2024
would be problems with translations/localisations that came with WGA Strike. Translators gets
only black screen with mouth movement and audio... and because of the strike they were not
able to consult it with screenwriters or other creators. So if [a] character was talking with more
people at once... it was not always clear if he/she is speaking with male or female character. So
it [also slowed] this process outside of [the] US.” [u/Blackhand47XD]

● [November 2023] Empire Magazine, Jan 2024 issue - a Star Wars-centric article states that
Skeleton Crew is 2024. [Empire Magazine]

● [November 21, 2023] “All the titles from Star Wars Celebration are still on the books, Lucasfilm
officials say.” [Vanity Fair]

● [November 23, 2023] “The source who brought up the possibility of November next year still
thinks it’s possible, there’s also been a hint from another source pointing to that window, but
others have said that Spring would be the earliest possibility.
○ However I must stress that it all seems up in the air and in August everything was
being treated as “influx” and “fluid.”” [Bespin Bulletin]

● [November 23, 2023] “I brought up [the rumor about Skeleton Crew releasing in January 2024]
with my sources, but [they] scoffed at the idea.” [Bespin Bulletin]

● [November 28, 2023] “I heard from two different sources that Skeleton Crew will be some time
after Halloween.” Talked to a third source - a Lucasfilm person - and they expect it to be
“Holiday/Christmas season 2024”. [MakingStarWars, stream]

● [December 1, 2023] “Yeah, [Skeleton Crew] was going to be beginning next year, but it has been
pushed indefinitely … but it’s looking like an April/May release at the moment.”

Crew has officially moved on to post-production. (See Post Production)

Working title: Grammar Rodeo [Production Weekly]

[April 7, 2023] The idea of Skeleton Crew was revealed to Jon Favreau by Jon Watts on the set of
Spider-Man: Far From Home. [Celebration 2023]

[April 7, 2023] Kathy stepped in to help due to her past Amblin experience. [Celebration 2023]

[July 18, 2022] Skeleton Crew will have the biggest budget of any Star Wars series that’s been produced
thus far. THR is reporting that the budget on Skeleton Crew is 136 million dollars, with 20 million coming
from California tax credits. [The Hollywood Reporter]

PRE-PRODUCTION:

[February 4, 2022] Sources described a show in development as: “Stranger Things in space.”
● “A description heard, almost verbatim, from two different sources months apart from each
other.”
● “A new (as yet unannounced) live-action Star Wars series for Disney Plus. Unlike their
current/upcoming shows, however, the primary cast, and focus of the story, would be kids in the
pre-teen to teenage range.”
● “Beyond that, independent sources also said the series was going to be set during The High
Republic era with a member of the “Luminous Team” of authors on board to help with the
story.” [Jordan Maison, Cinelinx]

[February 10, 2022] Production Weekly lists a new project with working title “GRAMMAR RODEO” and
says it will film in June 2022. [Production Weekly]

[February 10, 2022] “Our own sources have hinted that this project is currently casting someone
between the age of ten to twelve.” [Murphy’s Multiverse]

[February 10, 2022] “[Weeks ago, sources told me] that there is an unannounced project on the calendar,
but I wasn’t told when the project would film, what it was about, or who was attached.
● “A familiar name was attached”
● “They don’t believe it to be set during The Mandalorian timeline”
● “The shoot will take place at Manhattan Beach Studios in a few months and would run until
December.”
● “I rounded off multiple possibilities to my sources including The Acolyte, Lando and other
announced projects, along with other rumoured projects including the Saw Gerrera and
Partisans series, and was met with a resounding no to all.” [Bespin Bulletin]

[March 24, 2022] “The show has been in pre-production for a small number of weeks at a studio in
Culver City, California where sets are being prepared ahead of the June start. The series is also due to
film at Manhattan Beach Studios.” [Bespin Bulletin]

[April 29, 2022] Grammar Rodeo will also film at California State University, Dominguez Hills at some
point. [Bespin Bulletin]

❌INCORRECT Possibly wrapped filming on September 9th? [DiscussingFilm] had it up, but deleted it.
Some outlets still have it up. Misheard what was said at D23. [D23 2022]

January 9, 2023 “Sources [say] that Skeleton Crew started filming slightly later than planned, but that
the initial plan was to still wrap filming by the end of 2022. Since then things have changed and the
series is now aiming to wrap by March 2023.
The sets at California State University in Dominguez Hills were struck last month in the run up
to the holidays after months of filming at the location. As I’d also previously reported, Skeleton
Crew was also filming at a studio in Culver City, but it’s my belief that the rest of filming will now
primarily or entirely take place at Manhattan Beach Studios, California.” [Bespin Bulletin]

UPDATE: January 23, 2023 Stunt Coordinator, George Cottle, celebrates “a wrap” on Skeleton Crew for
his team: “That’s a Wrap on Skeleton Crew!! Once again I was lucky enough to be surrounded by some of
the most amazing stunt performers I have ever worked with!! I feel so lucky to work with you all! Thank
you for all your hard work and dedication! So so excited for this one!” Cottle captioned the video.
[Instagram, now deleted]
Stunt actor Juliana Potter also shared on her Instagram Stories a message after wrapping
saying, “Going to miss my Star Wars: Skeleton Crew stunt family. So grateful. Can’t wait for the
world to see what’s in store.”
Deadline also reported about the series wrapping. [Deadline]
“I reached out to sources to ask if the series had already wrapped, as I’d heard the series was
aiming to finish completely by March, and was told by those sources that there were planned
pick ups and additional footage taking place throughout the rest of January and February.”

Description of Celebration 2023 Teaser:

● “The trailer begins with a group of school kids in class being taught by a droid. We see the
character played by Ravi Cabot-Conyers seemingly bored with life, looking longingly in his class
room and seeking adventure. As the trailer progresses we hear voice overs from the various
kids discussing going on an adventure as we see shots of them taking a speeder bike through a
forest, an Ortolan child (played by Robert Timothy Smith) opening up a garage door at dusk,
along with quick glimpses of the characters played by Ryan Keira Armstrong and Kyriana
Kratter, the latter of which is sporting a visor of some kind. They take their speeder bikes at the
dead of night and venture out into the unknown full of glee. The next morning, then a father of
at least one of the children played by Tunde Abebimpe realizes the children have gone missing
as we see the group of children discover a ship and take it off world. The Lucasfilm logo
appears as we hear the children call out for their father. The trailer intercuts with shots of the
parents trying to find their children in various ways, as Kerry Condon’s character stresses that
something is very wrong. We see glimpses of the kids flying in their commandeered space ship
through the galaxy and the group running through a market of some kind. We see shots of the
pirate Vane picking up a blaster at a bar and entering a ship, perhaps the ones the kids are one,
with other pirates. We get a hologram of Kerry Condon’s character asking the kids to return
home as they watch on. As the trailer races towards its end, we see the pirates opening fire, the
children playing with a friendly droid, a skeleton on a ship, along with worried shots of the
children’s parents. The final shots of the trailer shows the kids seemingly in a jail cell of some
sort, where they meet Jude Law, donned in Jedi robes, who uses the force to lift a key and
unlock them from their cell. The Skeleton Crew title card appears and is quickly followed by
flashes of Jude Law piloting the children’s ship, X-wings, pirates firing blasters on a ship and
Jude Law in new clothes including a deep v-neck baby blue shirt and a leather jacket as he
walks away from the children’s ship.” [Bespin Bulletin]

Premise ● [May 17, 2022] “The show takes place during the post–Return of the Jedi reconstruction that
follows the fall of the Empire.” [Vanity Fair]

● [December 20, 2022] Official Disney Synopsis: “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, set in the New
Republic era, is about a group of kids lost in the Star Wars galaxy trying to find their way home.”
[StarWarsNewsNet]

● [April 7, 2023] Dave Filoni describes Skeleton Crew: “a story about a group of kids…in the Star
Wars galaxy” who go on an adventure that is “more than they can handle.” [Celebration 2023]

● Takes place after the events of “Return of the Jedi” and during the “Mandoverse” era. The show
focuses on a group of kids who are lost in the galaxy and just want to find their way. Inspired by
the Amblin films of the 1980’s. [Celebration 2022]

● “The rumor is that Ahsoka will introduce the concepts that Skeleton Crew will explore.”
[MakingStarWars]
● [February 22, 2023] Jon Favreau: Skeleton Crew is in post-production, set in the same time
period (as The Mandalorian) and may have character crossovers, despite being a stand-alone
story. [VirtuouScimitar, Twitter]
○ “The way [Favreau] put it implied that they are all standalone stories in that you don't
need to watch the others to like them, but watching them all will deepen your
appreciation. And the sets are all next to each other when filming plus the time period
is the same.”

● [April 7, 2023] According to Kathy Kennedy, this show is not made FOR kids, it just happens to
have kids in it. [Celebration 2023]

● [April 26, 2023] Jude Law: “It’s got a little more, as they described it, ‘Amblin’ meaning it’s an
adventure of kids but it’s not in a kid’s world. The jeopardy is real.” [The Tonight Show, Interview]

● [May 5, 2023] Together, [the kids] will be facing threats including The Mandalorian Season 3's
rabble-rousing pirate Vane, while Jude Law’s mysterious character is teased as a Jedi. Though,
the actor tells Empire, his role is “complicated” – his part in shepherding these younglings might
not be so simple. “They need guidance, but they’re vulnerable,” Law says. “And so throughout,
the people they meet, you question all of them. Is my character nice? Is he not? You just want
them to be alright and get back home. But if you know Jon and Chris’ work, you’ll know that the
kids aren’t always safe.” [Empire Online]

will be irrelevant as this is a new universe in the same timeline, reality, and continuity. So as they
explore the universe trying to make their way home, we are with them for that journey.”

● [December 8, 2023] “I know they filmed a scene with [Whim and Neel] sneaking out at night
with (real) flashlights - shot like Spielberg's E.T. against a foggy night - to get to the ship in the
forest. Whim has great Brian May hair and Neel actually has hair that is parted perfectly to the
side, much like the way Eric Cartmen's hair is parted when he's playing the good boy to
manipulate his mother in South Park. While Whim fits the hero mold, Neel is hilarious in his
OshKosh B'gosh overalls and straightlaced haircut.” [MakingStarWars]

● [December 12, 2023] “The crew uses walkie-talkies, just Star Wars’d up.” [MakingStarWars]

● [January 10, 2024] The/a ship in Skeleton Crew is called the “Onyx Cinder”. [LEGO Set 75374

The Amblin ● [December 11, 2023] “In Skeleton Crew we do have “bikes” the cast will use throughout the
series. Last year, the prop department made what amounts to popular BMX/Huffy bikes from
bikes of Star the 80’s Amblin films seen in movies such as Goonies and E.T. However, I’m told the BMX is
Wars contorted into a Speeder Bike shape “to Star Wars it up.”
○ MSW has seen photos of the props.
○ Bespin Bulletin had a video of “Whim” on a rolling track last year shot at Cal State
Dominguez Hills. From some things I have heard about the bikes and how they were
shot, it is most certainly one of the bikes I’m describing.
○ The speeder bikes have baskets on them and streamers on the handlebars (because
that’s how it’s done).
○ MSW Speculation: Based on the amount of bikes made for the filming, I assume the
children load the bikes onto the ship and use them in other episodes after the opening
story arc.” [MakingStarWars]

Jude Law’s ● [December 13, 2022] “Jude Law’s character is a teacher and the show is like a field trip into and
out of the known Star Wars Universe with “The Goonies”. Jude Law’s part instructor of the
character students, part Bran (the older brother in Goonies) in the series, as they contend with pirates in
& pirates unknown territories. The journey takes them through rough spots and to opulent places.”
[MakingStarWars]
○ [March 9, 2023] Bespin Bulletin asked his sources if the school Law’s character works
at is the one on Nevarro. He was not able to get any hard answers.
○ [March 9, 2023] Bespin Bulletin also inquired about the pirates seen in Episode 1 of
The Mandalorian Season 3 - and if they’re the same as the pirates in this series. His
sources believe that they are. Both he and MakingStarWars heard that a Nikto pirate
will feature in the series. [Bespin Bulletin]

● [June 29, 2023] Law will neither confirm nor deny that he's playing a Jedi - though his character
does levitate an object in the trailer shown at Star Wars Celebration 2023 in April. "I can't tell
you very much about my character," the actor says. "He is someone the children meet on their
attempt to get home. He is like a lot of the world that they experience: contradictory, and at
times a place of nurture and other times a place of threat." [Entertainment Weekly]

Opulent ● [December 19, 2022] “Jude Law’s teacher character and the crew are “guests” at an “opulent
hotel” at some point during the first season of the series. The people at this location are “Canto
locations Bight rich” and the crew either stay, intend to stay, or pass through this location.”
[MakingStarWars]
○ “This opulent hotel appears to be one of the larger shooting locations for season one
of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.”
○ “This sequence is big. Loads of costumes were made for the rich guests and servants
of this set and location.” [MakingStarWars]

Aliens! ● [December 13, 2022] “For the alien lovers out there, I glimpsed a photo, really briefly, of the
masks for this show and there are a lot of classic alien species from the original six films in this
series. I saw Weequays, Baradas, Mon Cals, Rodians, you name it, the greatest hits were all
there. One Weequay looked a lot like Hondo Ohnaka but I honestly can’t confirm that the mask
was his at this point but serious Hondo vibes were felt when I saw it.” [MakingStarWars]

● [April 26, 2023] Jude Law: “The thing I underestimated was the experience of acting opposite
droids and creatures, which of course, are all there. And so you get to work with — at times —
five, six, seven puppeteers. And these people are masters.” [The Tonight Show, Interview]

● [April 26, 2023] Jude Law: “I’ve been very lucky. I’ve worked with some particularly respectable
actors. But I’ve never been starstruck like I was when I met a Jawa … I saw a Jawa walking by
and I was like, ‘I can’t believe it. It’s a real Jawa!'” [The Tonight Show, Interview]
