☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.

X Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

X Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.

posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing it via an
outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation:
Students will be introduced to the concept of digital citizenship through discussions on responsible
online behavior and the impact of their digital footprint. They will then brainstorm ideas for their
video PSA, outlining key messages and storyboard concepts. Using video editing software, students
will record footage, edit clips, add titles, and integrate voiceovers or background music. The teacher
will facilitate discussions, provide technical guidance on using the software, and offer feedback on
storyboard development and video production. Peer feedback sessions will be conducted to critique
and refine PSA drafts. The lesson will conclude with students presenting their final PSAs to the class
or uploading them to a shared platform for wider dissemination.
Managing student learning:
By allowing students to create their own PSAs, the lesson encourages active engagement and critical
thinking about digital citizenship. Students will shift from passive consumers of digital content to
active producers, fostering deeper understanding and personal responsibility in online interactions.
On task:
Students will submit a storyboard plan before starting video production, ensuring thoughtful
planning and efficient use of time. Collaborative peer reviews and teacher-guided checkpoints will
further support active engagement and timely completion.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
This lesson focuses on Multiple Means of Action & Expression by providing students with various
options to demonstrate learning through video creation. It supports Multiple Means of Engagement
by fostering student interest in a relevant and meaningful topic, and Multiple Means of
Representation by incorporating visual and auditory elements in learning about digital citizenship.
Reflection: This activity is designed to empower students to become responsible digital citizens
while honing their multimedia production skills. I am particularly excited about seeing how creatively
students will communicate the importance of digital citizenship through their PSA videos.
