OBJECTIVE OF THE CAS CAMP EDEA 2024
In our pursuit of the International Baccalaureate (IB)
Diploma, students are required to complete 150 hours of
CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service), a Core Component of
the IB curriculum.
Extracurricular activities are also at the heart of the
Cambridge program and aim at making Cambridge
learners balanced and open-minded global citizens. The
CAS Camp is an avenue for the students to discover
themselves out of their usual environment, gain fuller
multicultural understanding, ignite their sense of
autonomy and appreciate learning out of the classroom.
This year our CAS Camp will be at Edea. We hope our
students will acquire a greater historical,cultural and
economic context of Cameroon through Edea, which
would help them build better dreams for the future.
Scheduled for the 9th to 12 th of January 2024, this trip is
intended to be an enriching experience for our students
helping them to better serve different communities in
the country.
1. OBJECTIVE OF THE CAS CAMP BERTOUA 2022 (Next)

The students will be transported, lodged, fed during

these 4 days of CAS Camp.

The necessary security, disciplinary and health

safety arrangements we have put in place, includes
the participation of our Health Safety Environment
Team, all teachers and the acquisition of an
insurance plan to cover all the students for the
duration of the trip.

The 4 days of the CAS Camp are dedicated to

social, environmental and sport activities.

Day 1: Tuesday 9th of January 2024

8 a.m: Arrival at school and preparations

9 a.m: Departure from Yaounde to Edea

3 p.m: Arrival, settling down and distribution of

rooms at lodging site

3:30 p.m–5:00 p.m: Visit to Mandrapp

orphanage
5:00 p.m–9:00 p.m Dinner/fun time/movie
night

10:00 p.m: Bed Time

6:00 a.m–6:45 a.m: Wake up and shower

7:00 a.m–8:00 a.m: Breakfast
8:10 a.m–8:30 a.m: Departure to City council hall
8:45 a.m–9:00 a.m: Welcome Address by the Mayor of
Edea City Council
9:15 a.m–11:00 p.m: Distribution of tasks and clean-up
campaign
11:10 a.m-12:15 p.m: Lunch Break
12:30 p.m–4:00 p.m: Visit of Saint Pie X Secondary School
(Football and Basketball and Academic exchanges)
4:15 p.m–5:15 p.m: Retreat to lodging site. Individual
cleaning up and settling down for dinner
6:00 p.m-9:00 p.m: Dinner/movie night/games
10:00 p.m: Bed time

7. Dress Code and insurance

The weather in Edea is very hot in the morning and

slightly less in the evening.
We recommend that parents provide sun creams for
children with sensitive skin.
Also, choose light clothes that are not too open, to
avoid sunburn.
