2. Periodic Inspection

A. General Information

(1) Recommended inspection intervals should not be exceeded by more


than 10 hours and shall be performed on components as outlined and
at intervals specified in Table 601.

NOTE: Engine operating hours are defined as any time the


engine is operated in flight (liftoff or

touchdown).

(2) Upon completion of these inspections (except for pre-flight itens)


make an engine log book entry noting engine operating time.

B. Periodic Inspection Requirements

Refer to Table 601 for recommended Periodic Engine Inspection

August 4, 1994. Insert facing page 608, 72-00-00.

Reason: To replace TR 72-57 and revise Fuel Pump and Fuel Control Unit spline inspection criteria.

Use the following FUEL CONTROVFUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY MATING SPLINE INSPECTION in Table
601 in lieu of the existing FUEL CONTROUFUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY MATING SPLINE INSPECTION.

Inspect exposed paint surfaces for defective or damaged paint, missing,


peeling, cracked, blistered, crinkled or scratched paint shall be reason
for repair. There is no limit to the size or number of areas of defec-
tive or damaged paint that may be repaired providing corrosion has pene-
trated less than 0.010 inch. If corrosion is 0.010 inch or more refer to
appropriate section for inspection limits. Repair shall be accomplished
in accordance with 72-00-00, Cleaning/Painting, Repair of Defective or
Damaged Paint and Minor Corrosion on Magnesium Components.
