The site is interesting and very helpful.
The software is very easy to use and efficient.
Not everything I understand, but over time …..
At the Software to calculate voltage drop, cable types are:
2c * 50
3c * 240
3.5 * 300
4c * 300
What does it mean? I do not know it like that.

Thank you,

Hello Sir,
I must say very useful n informative articles and tools for the ones working in this field.
I am working in a Power Domain Consultancy, We are developing the Software (Energy Network Management
System) for various studies focusing Distribution Utilities under the Guidelines of R-APDRP. For this I need to
prepare the Libraries for various Equipments in the Network. Recently I am facing Problem in Cable Library. I
have used your Excel for the same which help me upto an extent. But the way we have modeled the Cables n
Conductors, I require the Following Physical/ Technical parameters of the cables n conductor. Can u suggest
me some reference/ source for the same.
Thanks

Various Parameters are;

Phase Conductor Diameter,

Nominal Diameter over the Concentric Neutrals of Cable,
Diameter of a Concentric Neutrals Strand,
GMR of Phase Conductor,
GMR of Neutrals Strand,
Resistance of Phase Conductor,
Resistance of Neutrals Strand,
No of Concentric Neutrals Strand, etc.

Dear Jignesh, I am curious to know the about the LV CB selection requirements for bus tie-in applications
between Motor Control Centers, particularly the following scenario.

Two Dyn11 Transformers 2500 kVA, 11/0.415 kV feeding two different MCCs need to be fitted with a bus tie-in
between them. I’ve came across a scheme where there are 4pole ACBs as LV incomers to those boards whilst
only 3pole ACBs (no breaking for the neutral) as bus tie-in CBs.There is a trip logic controlling these CBs, as
the permanent paralleling will be blocked by this logic and one out of the two Incomer CBs will be tripped in
case of a permanent paralleling situation. However, whilst closing the bus-tie, Transfomer Neutrals will make a
closed loop since there are no breaking of the neutrals on the CBs. Anybody could tell me is there any
international standards for selecting CBs for such applications? Is this scheme technically good? Is there any
danger in connecting the neutrals together? please consider that the subject distribution network is prone to
have harmonic distortion. Please advise…thanks in advance

Dear Sir ,
I have a question ,suppose we are going to design a LT Panel Main switch board and acdb 3 phase for a
control room of substation , so there will be lighting loads , ac , fan , and the Ac supply to the motors in isolator ,
and the OLTC of the transformer ..etc similarly there will be many other loads too , I am not able to find study
material that guide me through the calculations needed to design the panel , which includes load estimation
first , then the various mcb and mccbs to be used and also the bus bar size .
Please help me with this
any help will be much appreciated .
