Multimedia Audio or Video LESSON IDEA Template2024
What is the student learning goal for this lesson idea? Students will create a podcast using an audio
tool to use their creativity to demonstrate their learning and understandings of reading literature.
Description of Software:
Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s): (Which level(s) will this lesson meet using this technology tool?)
Please put an X in the box or next to the level(s). Do not highlight or bold the response.
How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:
Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.
✘ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.
Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to

demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.
(Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing
it via an outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation: Students will be made aware of the goals by reviewing the “I can”
statements and being introduced to the learning and activities. To introduce the activity students
will engage in a variety of reads aloud fables and folktale and engage in discussion about the central
message, lesson, or moral of a story. I will discuss with the students the basic elements of a variety
of genes and use anchor charts to identify basic elements of fables and folk tales. I will make use of
story maps to retell the stories and have students retell stories by individual, small group, and as a
large group. I will introduce how I make the podcasts for us in class by demonstrating it to the class
and have them interact with the tool as a class and in groups to get more familiar with it, then
students’ activity will be introduced, and the activity introduction will also be recorded with a
podcast for the students to look back at. Students will recount their favorite book and recount the
story by retelling the story with the podcast, including identifying the central message, lesson, or
moral in their own way through audio. Other options students could get creative with doing is with
their favorite book they can summarize the text content or recognize the basic elements of a variety
of genres. The students will be given a choice board of what they will focus on in their podcast and
they can create their script such as role play in their own way if it meets objective(s). The students
can work in pairs or groups if it helps with their podcast creation. Students will publish their content
to the class website. Students will receive feedback as I walk around and ask questions as they are
working on their podcasts. Students will also receive feedback from their peers after they are
complete and view one another’s podcasts. I will conclude the lesson by having students make use
of think-pair-share about what we learned from creating podcasts, viewing other podcasts, and
getting feedback from our peers.
Managing student learning: Students’ behavior will shift from passive to active social learners. The
students are actively engaging with the material, participating in discussions, collaborating, and
applying their knowledge in meaningful ways. I will all for time-on-task and shift from passive to
active learning by setting time limits, students must plan a storyboard before using tool, Ask 3 then
me, and co-engagement.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection:
The activity and the technology tools I selected support and enhance the learning experience for
students in the classroom. The audio tool and activity support the UDL Action and Expression
principle.
Reflection:
I feel like my activities will positively impact learning by having students take control and have choice
in their learning. I look forward to seeing all the creative podcasts students came up with. I will be
able to watch their podcasts and learn so much more about the students, see their skill, opinions,
learning, and interests. With this knowledge I can build deeper connections and support students
learning better.
