Code of Conduct

Every student admitted to the M.M.S. Program embodies the

knowledge and essence of a Manager. As an Institute, it is our sole
endeavor to train each and every student to Think, Plan and Act like
a manager.
At the workplace, you will be expected to perform a variety of roles,
from leading a team of people towards a common purpose, to
resolving conflicts between departments or between employees,
to counseling colleagues who are in need of motivation.

In order to carry such responsibilities on one’s shoulder, one needs to

imbibe himself/herself with certain value systems and form a character
that is truly capable and trustworthy. The Code of Conduct forms the
very basis of this Character and every student is expected to follow
this code to the best of his/her ability.
SJCEM - MMS Student Handbook

a. Honesty & Integrity

Every student is expected to have the highest of standards in

integrity and honesty. These qualities are highly desired and
rewarded in industry, society and life. They are invaluable in the
long run and leave a lasting impression on a student's character,
family background and upbringing. Integrity plays a vital role in
senior positions and needs to be earned right from the beginning of
one’s career. Following are the behaviors that will be deemed
unethical and unacceptable:

i) Cheating: Unauthorized Notes or examination aids that offer an unfair

advantage over other students without the consent from college
authorities.
ii) Plagiarism: Submitting in part or whole, material that has not been
prepared by the student.

records or information submitted for any college procedure.

The University states a minimum of 75% attendance as a

requirement for fulfillment of a term. However the Institute
encourages all students to maintain full attendance but no lower
SJCEM - MMS Student Handbook

than 95% under each subject, to achieve academic excellence.

Students failing to achieve this level of attendance will have to
bring their parents to the college for justification. As a manager,
Industry expects 100% attendance. Leave of absence while at
work can cast a negative clout on a manager’s future career in the
company, hence the Institute too enforces an enterprise-discipline
where 100% attendance is expected.
A student requiring a leave of absence may do so by applying for a
Leave of absence to the Admin Department. Only after securing an
approval for the Leave of Absence may a student take leave.
In the event of an emergency occurring the previous
evening/night, the student may take approval from the Admin
Department via Email/Telephone. However, the same must be
regularized once the student begins to attend college.

educational institutions and on Directions of the Hon. Supreme
Court of India vide its Order dated 16.5.2007 has ordered strict
implementation of following rules & regulations for Prevention and
prohibition of Ragging in educational Institutions.
Any form of indiscipline towards fellow students that constitutes
ragging will be dealt with strictly under the provisions of AICTE
and the Honorable Supreme Court of India. Students are expected
