INSTRUCTIONS

1. Each work must be printed in Times New Roman, Font 12, Line spacing 1.5
2. Each group must be INDEPENDENT. Nothing is to be copied from any group
3. Do not copy or submit any plan DOWNLOADED from the internet
4. Each group should consist of 10 participants
5. Submission should be in both soft and hard copies
6. The work must be submitted on 10th May 2024

QUESTION
Select a business idea in relation to your course of study/profession and prepare a business plan which can be used in
applying for a loan from lenders. Include the following issues/sub-topics and the attached Business Plan Workbook
provided, in your Plan:
1. Executive Summary
2. Background
3. Business Description
4. Regulatory Framework
5. Market Analysis (especially the target market, estimated size of the market size, and market trend)
6. Competition Analysis (identify the competitors, state their strengths and weaknesses)
7. Marketing Plan (explain your product/service, price, distribution, and promotion means)
8. Operational/Production Plan (include a list of inputs needed in the business, their quantity and costs (Use a
Table)

PARTS OF THE BUSINESS PLAN

1.0: AN OVERVIEW/EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This comes immediately after the title page. It is a concise explanation of the venture. It is important because
financiers do not have time to read very long reports. The executive summary is written after the plan has been
finished. It should be the last item to be written. The executive summary briefly:

• States the purpose of the venture


• The need for the offerings
• Targeted market/s and market projections
• Financial needs of the venture and financial projections
• Unique features of the venture

2.0: BUSINESS BACKGROUND INFORMATION

• Provide the Background/history of your business

3.0: BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

3.1 Owners/partners
• Define your background and those of any sponsors
• Describe the proposed ownership structure of the business.
3.2 The business
• Describe your proposed business
• Justify the need for your business in the market place
• Describe in detail the choice of your business locations
3.3 Industry
• Describe the size of the industry of your proposed business.(i.e sector)

b. business services
c. repair services
d. entertainment and recreation services, and
e. hotel and lodging services
• Describe the key characteristics of the industry to which your proposed business belongs
3.4 Products or services
• Describe the product (s) or service (s) of your business
