Focus Question
How do we solve equations that contain variables on both sides?

Equations that contain variables on both sides of the equal sign are solved in a similar way as those with
one variable; they just might have a few extra steps! Watch the video to learn how to solve this type of
equation.

The process used to solve the equation above was to gather all of the terms with x on one side of the
equation and the constants (the numbers) on the other side. Remember, whatever you do to one side of
the equation, you must do to the other.
