*Dengue Serology

Test Result

Dengue NS1 Antigen : Negative

Dengue Antibodies (IgM) : Negative.

Dengue Antibodies (IgG) : Negative.

Note :
1] NS 1 is highly-conserved glycoprotein that is present at high concentrations
in the sera of dengue infected patients during the early clinical phase of
the disease. NS 1 antigen is found from the first day and up to 9 days after
onset of disease in case of primary and secondary dengue infected patients.
Usually IgM dose not become detectable until 5 to 10 days after the onset of
illness in cases of primary dengue infection and until 4 to 5 days after onset
of illness in secondary infections.
In primarly infectinos IgG appear in the 14th day and persist for life.Secondary
infections show that IgG rise with 1-2 days after the onset of symptoms.
2)The analysis of single sample should not be used as the sole criterion for
diagnosis.
3)In early infections and some secondary infections detectable levels of IgM antibodies
may be low. Some patients may not produce detectable levels of antibody within the
first 7 to 10 days after infections.Where symptroms persist,patients should be re-tested
4-7 days after first specimen.
4)Serological cross-reactivity across the flavivirus group is common. The final diagnosis
should be based on test results in conjuction with other clinical and laboratory findings.

ENZYME LINKED FLUOROSCENT ASSAY(ELFA) Dengue NS1, IgM are available for Confirmation.
