Dharni block has great potential for fisheries-based livelihood. As per government record,
it has 144 numbers of (1750 hectare) community ponds, 120 seasonal water bodies (1197
hectare) and 24 perennial waterbodies (553 hectare).
Apart from these records, more than 600 small and seasonal waterbodies are developed
under MANREGA and watershed program. Bringing all into fisheries and aquaculture-
based livelihood will bring enough food, nutrition, and livelihood in tribal community.
JOB SUMMARY The position is based out of Dharni. A candidate will be required to shift to Dharni.
Monitoring of the existing established Aqua School, Farm ponds and Recirculatory
Aquaculture System, establishment of IMC Hatchery in this year and engagement with the
government stakeholders requires full-time commitment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
ROLES AND • Overlooking the IMC Hatchery Establishment and its management
RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensure better functioning of Recirculatory Aquaculture System unit
• Operating Aqua School and information centre on regular basis
• Monitoring the functioning of farm ponds, integrated farming and related processes
• Provide handholding support to farmers in doing best practices
• Compiling water quality test based on advisory support for each pond
• Ensure better functioning of Recirculatory Aquaculture System (RAS) units
• Coordinating with Nutrition and FSL team, Training Program lead and Jaljeevika team
and organizing trainings for interested farmers/project beneficiaries, fish farmers,
community collectives (SHGs) and groups of micro entrepreneurs and submitting
training reports
• Playing a key role in formation of Aqua FPO, the block level Fish Farmers’ Producer
Organisation
• Conducting periodic meetings with Govt. departments like Rural and Tribal
department, Livelihood mission, Women and Child Development Dept. and other
fisheries allied services/ schemes and strengthening collaborations for linking the
project beneficiaries with different government schemes
• Project data management, report writing and submission, writing success stories,
internal as well as donor presentation

• Program Manager- hierarchical relationship
• Deputy Project Manager- direct report and delegation of project deliverables
• Project teams at other locations: Cross functional learning and exchange of
intervention strategies
External
• Local governmental and non-governmental partners: exchange of information.

QUALIFICATION & Essential:
EXPERIENCE • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Fisheries
• 2 to 3 years of experience in Pisciculture and allied services.
• Hands-on experience in IMC Hatchery development will be highly preferable.
SKILLS & • Highly motivated to work at grassroots level, Strong mobilising skills, Networking and
COMPETENCIES project management skills
• Good Communication Skills-Flexibility – Autonomy - reporting skills – knowledge of
Marathi/Hindi/English language
