Importance of the policy

It is necessary to revise this policy to:

 further strengthen the results recorded so far;


 better respond to current and future communicable and non-communicable diseases national,
regional and global health and health-related needs;
 address the evolving national vision, socio-economic developments, and changing
demographics within our health system, alongside the emergence of new and existing disease
outbreaks

The main objectives of the policy


 Enhance universal health coverage by establishing a robust health system that delivers quality
medical services emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention
 Ensure sustainable health financing to provide citizens with access to health services without
facing financial crises due to healthcare costs
 Reduce maternal, child, and infant morbidity and mortality caused by preventable factors
 Prevent and reduce illnesses and deaths caused by communicable, non-communicable, and
mental health disorders, as well as emergencies
 Developing a competitive, community-based, and trustworthy health system.
