1. This letter does not grant a valid stay to the applicant in Malaysia. The applicant must have a valid pass endorsed in the travel
document until the issuance and endorsement of the Student Pass. The applicant may only commence studies with the above
mentioned education institution upon issuance of the said pass by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
2. The applicant shall not engage in any education institution other than specifically described above. Should there be any changes
in the applicant's studies or courses, the education institution is required to apply for a new Student Pass at Immigration
Department of Malaysia through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).
3. Upon completion/ termination of studies, the education institution shall inform Immigration Department of Malaysia to cancel the
Student Pass. Any other passes tied to the Student Pass such as Social Visit Pass for dependant / guardian must be produced
for cancellation along with the Student Pass.

PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL

STEP 1 : Single Entry Visa (SEV)

Please apply for an SEV if required before the expiry of the Visa Approval Letter (eVAL). Kindly
note that some nationalities will be required to obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA) upon landing in Malaysia.
If you fail to get your SEV issued, you might be subjected to being denied entry to Malaysia.

STEP 2 : Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) refer to the Immigration website at:
Students who have obtained a Visa Approval Letter (VAL), and
Mobility students with a course duration less than three months
are required to complete the MDAC online as early as 3 days
before arrival or at the latest upon arrival through the Immigration

STEP 3 : EMGS Mobile App

Please download the EMGS Mobile App and fill up the Pre-Arrival form three (3) days before
your arrival in Malaysia to avoid any delays during your arrival. This will assist us in planning

STEP 4 : Notify Your Education Institution

Please inform your educational institution, as they may need to make necessary arrangements
to welcome you at the airport upon your arrival.

UPON ARRIVING

At the airport, don't forget to tell the Immigration Officers you're an international student and
present your MDAC registration. They'll ensure your passport is stamped with a Special Pass.

Before leaving the Immigration Counters, make sure to check your passport. You should see
a Special Pass stamped on it.

Important: Please make sure you don't get a social visit stamp – this will make you
ineligible for a Student Pass endorsement.

POST ARRIVAL MEDICAL SCREENING

Must be done within 7 days of your arrival to Malaysia.

Within seven days of landing in Malaysia, it's mandatory to complete your medical check-up at
EMGS's approved clinics. This keeps things on track for your Student Pass endorsement.

Public university tip: If you're joining a public university, you can get the check done
on-campus. Just connect with your institute representative for details.
 STUDENT PASS ENDORSEMENT
Do not delay in submitting your passport to your Education Institutions for the Student Pass
endorsement.

You will get a Special Pass that's valid for up to 30 days when you arrive in Malaysia. Make sure
you get your Student Pass sorted within this time frame.
Caution: Keep an eye on the Special Pass expiry date. Staying beyond can lead to fines or worse,
deportation.

International students can also track the progress of their applications via the EMGS website

application is created up to the endorsement of a student pass.

Arrival Hall in the main terminal building at Level 3. Before the immigration clearance counters.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2

Level 3a after the exit from the Skybridge. International students that arrive in Malaysia on Level 2 will
be required to take the passenger lifts to Level 3a.
