01 Brief Analysis
Before the start of every project, I always analyze the client’s brief that
contains details of what they expect. This includes studying the logo type,
font type and style they hope to see represented on their brand.
02 Research
Research takes place in the first stages of any design project I commence.
I conduct extensive background research to be able to understand your goals,
audience needs and project expectations. In addition, I will conduct market,
customer and competitive research to gather additional insight.
03 Sketch Development
The output result from phase I and II will lead to sketch ideas from the designer.
In some cases, we move forward with to phase IV when the client approves
a sketch. At this point we will provide 2 more concepts for the client to
choose from.
To be clear, phase IV is independent of this phase. We carry out this phase as
some clients would rather be saved the time of waiting for the concept
designs before approval
04 Design
When a sketch is approved and you are on board with the initial concepts,
design work begins. I keep your communication needs and priorities at the
core of every design decision – from colors to image selection to font styles.
Typically, I explore several different creative approaches before centering on
my own main creative ideas. Based on your feedback, I evolve these creative
approaches into comprehensive design directions.
05 Implementation/Presentation
After you select your preferred design direction, I begin design execution.
I will work with you to select images and gather copies for the final design
pieces. I produce draft outputs for your review and make sure that your input
is reflected before any piece goes into production.
When your quality standards (and mine) are achieved, I prepare your design
pieces (files and deliverables) for final production. Also, I collaborate closely with
any third-party vendors (such as printers) to make sure that the finished product
meets your expectations.
