Step 1

Choose a Career Path


Duration: 7 Days

This is the first and most important step:


Choose Red Team Career Path - if you’re passionate about
hacking or penetration testing or if you have Software testing
background.

Choose Blue Team Career Path - If you like defensive side of the
cybersecurity.

Note: Blue Team has more Job opportunities than Red Team.
I personally recommend you to plan for Blue Team career first.
You can always plan to switch to Red Team in the future.

Prepare for Certification


Certifications help you stand out from the crowd, I'll mention

Duration: 4 Weeks

Home labs are essential for security aspirants, offering a


practical environment to apply theoretical knowledge and
develop technical skills.

Rework your Linkedin


Today, most IT and security positions are closed through
Linkedin, so learn to sharp your Linkedin knife.
Duration: 2-3 days

Action:
Write Specific Headline "Seeking a Security Analyst Opportunity"
Under Section, mention security tools, projects etc
Write 4-5 lines under each of your Experience
Add Free or Paid Security Certifications(Step 4)
Invite your colleagues to write recommendation for you.
Add some Home Lab Projects or Real-world Projects
Add any Honors and Awards

Build a Personal Portfolio


Having a personal portfolio website is more important than ever
and certainly increase your visibility to Recruiters.
Duration: 2-3 days

Resume Building
In this step, I'll help you with some important points to consider
while building your brand new security resume.
Duration: 3-4 days

Work on
Add Certifications(Free/Paid)
Add Home-Lab Projects such as Open-source SOC Lab, Web
Penetesting Lab etc
Add relevant keywords in Resume to get discovered by Recruiters
such as
Web Security keywords: OWASP, Burp-Suite, OWASP ZAP
Network Security:Palo Alto Firewall, Cisco ASA Firewall
Security Analyst: ISO 27001, SOC, SIEM, Splunk, Wazuh

Interview Preparation
Prepare yourself with most of the possible interview questions.
Duration: 10-15 days
