ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

VI. RATIONALE

“CANR Sports Fest/Intramurals” is a school-based activity which involves several


tournaments in different sports and athletic activities. The main goal of this three-day activity is to
engage the general student population in different sports and athletic activities and to select the
campus representatives for the incoming CNSC Intercollegiate Sports Competition. The expected
venue of this event is at Camarines Norte State College – College of Agriculture and Natural
Resources Campus, Brgy. Talobatib, Labo, Camarines Norte.

A. INTRODUCTION

The proposed activity entitled “CANR Sports Fest/Intramurals” is a school-based


activity wherein representatives of each course-BSABE, BSA, BSES, and BAT-will be competing
for the purpose of selection of the school representatives for the incoming 2023 CNSC
Intercollegiate Sports Competition. It is spearheaded by the Sports Club Committee, in
collaboration with the CANR Faculty & Guest coaches.

Besides the main goal of selection, this activity is expected to encourage the student body
to do sports or athletic activities which are known to have vast positive effects in health and
disposition. It is also expected to develop camaraderie among the students and faculty, for
teamwork is a crucial asset in sports. This activity is also proposed to be a good way to start the
year, and a means to introduce the freshmen to their upperclassmen, faculty, and CANR campus’s
culture.

B. OBJECTIVES

The Objectives of this community-based activity entitled “CANR Sports


Fest/Intramurals” are the following:

PSABE-PPG CNSC 2021-2022


 To select the most proficient teams and players for the incoming 2023 CNSC
Intercollegiate Sports Competition through fostering a healthy and fair
competition in each event
 To promote a healthy lifestyle choice by encouraging the student body and
faculty to engage in sports and athletic activities
 To develop camaraderie amongst the participating teams, and to develop
the leadership abilities of potential team captains

C. IMPORTANCE OF THE PROJECT

“CANR Sports Fest/Intramurals” makes it possible for CANR campus


sports teams to select their roster early on so they may have ample time to
prepare for the CNSC Intercollegiate. This event also makes it possible for
students to have a brief breather event early on the semester, helping
reducing their stress. By completing this event, students move on with a
better grasp on good habits such as camaraderie, as well as enhanced
sports/athletic skills.
D. Overall rules and regulations in the Intramurals

1. All teams must have TEAM COORDINATOR and Team Coach for the security
and other concerns by their team, players and the management.

2. ALWAYS APPLY SPORTMANSHIP. The decision making regarding the tensions


during play like late calls, delaying time, swapping of players, and other faults will be
the concern of officiating officials.

3. PLAYERS must wear their respected uniforms during the game. Volleyball games
compose of at least 8-12 players each team. In volleyball, they must choose numbers 1-
12 only for their jersey number. Basketball games compose of at least 8-12 players
each team. In basketball any number in their jersey or uniform.

4. ALL STUDENTS are required to have their ATTENDANCE CARD for


intramurals. Attendance are compose of AM and PM column to be signed during local
intramurals by their assigned Team Coordinator.

5. TOURNAMENT PATTERN will be single round robin
