The step by step guide will help you to request and apply ADP updates via email or internet.

Step 1: Please open the ADP – Data Updating Wizard icon on your Desktop

Step 2: The ADP Data Updating Wizard will open – choose “Obtain updates from the
UKHO” and click “Next”:

Step 3: Select the updating via Internet or Email (depending on your communication
setup on board).

If you have direct Internet


connection, select this option

If you need to request via email –


choose this option

Step 4: Please ensure you have selected you wish to receive the updates via email and
click “Next”.

Only your licensed areas will show.

NOTE IF EMAIL OPTION WAS SELECTED GO TO STEP 6.

Step 5: If connected to Internet the Data Updating Wizard will connect to UKHO server
and download and install the updates:

NOW: GO TO STEP 11

Step 6: If you have Email on this PC, ADP will generate the email for you, select the “Send
Email Option” and click “Next”.

a. If not please click the “Store the request in a file to send later or to send from
another PC” and save the file to USB and transfer to the Email PC.

b. ADP will automatically generate the email:


• An email to adpmailgateway@ukho.gov.uk will be generated
• A text file will be included
• The email subject is “UKHOBLUR”

Step 7: Please send the email; this is an automated system so there is no need to edit
the email.

Step 8: After a short while you will receive the updates via email ready to update your
ADP software (NOTE: Updates received can be applied to both ADP PCs on board):

Step 9: Please open each email and save the attachment to a folder

Step 10: Clicking the updates will begin finish the updating procedure and progress will
be displayed in the Data Updating Wizard screen:

Step 11: Once the updates are applied, please click “Finish” to complete the updating
process:

IMPORTANT NOTE: According to SOLAS regulations V/19 2.1.4 & 2.1.5 it is mandatory to
install, activate and update the ADP software on at least 2 different (MAIN and BACKUP) PC's
aboard your vessel!
