वविषय/Sub: Use of G.I type Nut & Bolts in existing P. G. Clamp.
सन्दिरर/Ref(i) Board failure analysis meeting on 18.01.2024.
(ii) Dy CEE WCR letter No.WCR/L/03/2265 dated 13.02.2024.

During failure analysis meeting, Zonal Railways requested to allow use of

G.I. type Nut & Bolts in P.G. Clamps. WCR vide letter referred (ii) above has
also raised problem during replacement/maintenance of stainless steel bolt of
PG Clamps due to extra time required to cut SS bolts.

In view of the above, it is advised that Zonal Railways may use G.I. type
M 16 Nut & Bolts in existing P.G. Clamps(Drg.No. ETI/OHE/P/1030-3 Rev.A,
ETI/OHE/P/1040-2 Rev. E, ETI/OHE/P/1030-2 Rev D, ETI/OHE/P/1040-3 Rev B,
ETI/OHE/P/1050-2 Rev D & ETI/OHE/P/1050-3 Rev A) in place of Stainless Steel
Bolts on trial basis as per CORE approved sources (Please refer CORE Vendor
Directory) with the approval of PCEE. It is also advised to submit performance
feedback of the same to this office.
