TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR 11KV CURRENT TRANSFORMER

1. Application: Current Transformers (CT) are required for replacement and


installation of new CTs or replacement of existing CTs due to change in rating
for infrastructure strengthening purpose. It will be mounted in existing 11KV
incomer panel. Hence no deviations in critical mounting dimensions shall be
acceptable.

2. Scope: Scope shall cover, but not limited to; design, manufacture, testing,
inspection before dispatch and supply of indoor type fully dry type epoxy cast
measuring , protection

3. and differential three core current transformer of ratio 1600/5/5/1 for use in 11
KV 3-phase 4 wire resistance earthed neutral system equipment.

4. Applicable Standards: The CTs shall comply with the latest versions of the
following standards:
 IS: 2705 (1992), Part I, Part II, Part III Part IV
 IS: 4201-1983.
 IS/ICE: 60044-1 (2003)
 IEC 61869-1, IEC 61869-2, IEC 61243-5, IEC 60068-2-11

7. Type, rating and performance requirements: The 11 KV current transformers
shall be INDOOR type, EPOXY cast, suitable for 11 KV system and for use
under climate conditions as indicated above.

 Rating and electrical characteristics shall be as below:

 C.T.s shall be class F insulated and vacuum impregnated or resin cast


type.
 The C.T.s shall be rigidly mounted and shall be easily accessible for
maintenance and testing.
 The C.T. cores for metering, protection and differential protection shall
be separate.
 Secondary terminals of the C.T.s shall be provided with overall
transparent protection cover. These terminals shall be provided as
marked on the attached drawing Annexure-A1 or on the P1 side.

 The polarity of the C.T. shall be clearly marked.
 Identification labels shall be put near both primary and secondary
terminals.
 CT Name plate shall be pasted preferably on P2 side as marked on the
drawing. Labels and name plate shall be of non-conducting material
and self-adhesive type.
 The ratios of the current transformers shall be as indicated prominently.
 The C.T.s shall be capable of withstanding momentary open-circuit on
the secondary side without injurious effects.

8. Tests: All routine and acceptance tests in accordance with IS:2705 shall be
carried out at the manufacturer’s place. RCF reserves the right to witness
these tests. Seven days’ advance intimation shall be given. Type test
certificate shall be submitted from NABL accredited laboratory for acceptance
purpose. It shall not be older than Five years on the bid opening date.

9. Drawings and documents: Bidder shall submit fully dimensioned drawing of


the offered CT with the offer. Any other drawing found necessary by the
bidder shall also be submitted with the offer.
 Critical dimensions as below shall be matching with the existing CTs:
Primary terminals (P1 and P2) Two studs of M16,

Overall Width Of CT 175mm +/- 5%

 Party may visit site to prepare detailed requirement and drawings, if
required.
 Successful bidder shall submit copies of dimensional drawing and
other documents after receipt of purchase order/LOI for approval.
 THREE sets of drawings and documents like test reports, inspection
certificates etc. along with delivery of material. One set of all these
documents shall be submitted in electronic form.

10. Inspection: All routine tests shall be carried out at manufacturer’s works in
presence of RCF’s representative. One week’s advance intimation shall be
given for inspection call after readiness of the material.

11. Guarantee: The supplied material shall be guaranteed for a period of 12
months from date of successful installation and commissioning or 18 months
from the date of supply and acceptance, whichever is earlier.

12. Deviations: Deviations, if any, shall be furnished separately in detail.

13. Makes acceptable: L & T / Siemens / Areva T&D / Epoxy House / ABB /
Automatic Electric / Kappa Electrical / Avcon/ Silkans / Pragati.

14. Annexure-A1,A2 may be used as guidelines. Actual data to be verified by


bidder.
