PROJECTION OF PLANES

PLANE PARALLEL TO HP
1. Draw the Projections of a square plane of side 30mm Parallel to HP and Perpendicular to
VP.
2. Draw the projections of a pentagonal plane of side 25mm, in HP and perpendicular to VP
with one of its edges parallel to VP.
3. Draw the projections of a rectangular lamina of size 25mm x 50mm, parallel to and
20mm above HP and perpendicular to VP with one of its longer edges inclined at 30o to
VP.
4. Draw the projections of a hexagonal plane of side 25mm, in HP and perpendicular to VP,
such that one of its edges inclined at 20o to VP with one end in VP.

5. A circular lamina of diameter 50mm is parallel to VP and perpendicular to HP, with one
of the points of the circle in HP. Draw its front view and top view.
6. A triangle of side 30mm is parallel to VP and perpendicular to HP, such that one of its
sides inclined at 25o HP with one end in HP. Draw its front view and top view.

PLANE PERPENDICULAR TO BOTH HP & VP


7. Draw the projections of a rectangular plane of size 60mm x 30mm perpendicular to both
HP & VP.
8. A pentagon of side 30mm is perpendicular to both HP & VP, such that one edge is on the
ground. Draw its front view and top view.

PLANES INCLINED TO HP AND PERPENDICULAR TO VP


9. Draw the projections of a square plane of side 35mm inclined at 30degree to HP and
perpendicular to VP. Also mark the traces.
10. A regular hexagonal plate 30mm side is resting on HP on one of the edges with the
surface of the plate making 45Degree with HP and perpendicular to VP. Draw its
projections
11. A circular lamina of diameter 60mm lies in a plane inclined at 30 degree to HP and
perpendicular to VP. Draw its plan and elevation.
12. A regular pentagon plate of 30mm side is resting on HP on one of the edges with the
surface of the plate inclined at HP , perpendicular to VP such that the corner opoosite to
the resting edge is 20mm above HP. Draw its projections and find its true inclination.

13. A regular pentagon of 40mm side has one side in the VP and the plane is inclined at 30
degree to the VP. Draw the projections of the plane.
14. A rectangular plate of size 60mm x 40mm has one of its shorter edges in the VP, the
plane is perpendicular to HP and inclined to the VP such that it is seen as a square in the
elevation. Draw the projections and find the true inclination with VP.
15. A circular lamina of diameter 50mm is perpendicular to HP and inclined to VP so that its
front view is an ellipse of major diameter 50mm and minor diameter 25mm. Draw the
projections and true inclination.
16. A triangular lamina of side 35mm is perpendicular to HP and inclined to VP, such that
one edge is in VP and the corner opposite to the resting edge is 22mm above HP. Draw
its projections and find its true inclination.
PLANES INCLINED TO BOTH HP & VP
17. A square lamina ABCD of 40mm side rests on one of its corners on ground. The plane is
inclined at an angle of 30 degree to the ground and diagonal DB, in plan, inclined at 45
degree to the VP and parallel to the HP. Draw its projections.
18. A rectangular lamina ABCD of sides 70mm X 35mm has its shorter side AD in HP and
inclined at 45degree to the HP and the plan of the lamina is inclined at 30degree to the
VP. Draw its projections.
19. A regular pentagon of 30mm side is resting on one of its edges on HP which is inclined at
30o to VP. Its surface is inclined at 45o to HP. Draw its projections.
20. A hexagonal plane of side 30mm is resting on a corner in the HP with its surface making
an angle of 30degree with the HP. Then the top view is inclined at 40 degree to the VP.
Draw the projection.
21. A triangular plane of 60mm side is resting on one of its edges on HP, inclined to HP,
such that the corner opposite to the resting edge is 30mm above HP. Then its resting edge
is inclined at 40o to VP. Draw its projections.
22. Draw the projections of a circular thin plate of diameter 50mm resting on the ground on a
point A on the circumference, its plane inclined at 45 degree to HP and plan of the
diameter AB making 30Degree with VP.
23. A semi-circular plate of 80mm diameter has one end of the straight edge in the VP and
inclined at 45 degree to the HP. The surface of the plate makes an angle of 30 degree
with the VP. Draw the projection.
24. A square plate of 60mm side has a circular hole of 40mm diameter centrally punched.
The plate is resting on the HP with one of its edges which is perpendicular to VP and the
surface of the plate is inclined at 30 degree to HP. Draw the plan, elevation and side
view.
25. A square plate of 60mm side has a Semi circular hole of diameter 30mm. The centre of
the semi circle coincides with the centre of the plate. The Plate is perpendicular to HP
with one of its sides in VP and the surface of the plate inclined at 30 degree to VP. Draw
the side and top views of the plate.
26. Draw the projection of a hexagonal plane of side 30mm rests on the ground on one of its
corners with a diagonal containing that corner is inclined at 30 degree to HP and 50
degree to VP.
27. A circular lamina of diameter 60mm is resting on the ground on one of its point with a
diameter containing that point is inclined at 55o to HP and 30o to VP.
28. A rectangular lamina of size 60mm X 40mm is seen as a square in the top view, when it
rests on one of its edges on HP and perpendicular to VP. Draw the projections of the
lamina and find the true inclination of its surface with HP. Draw the front view of the
lamina when the edge about which it is tilted, is inclined at 45 degree to VP.
