About NIT Hamirpur
National Institute of Technology Hamirpur is one of
the thirty-one NITs of the country, which came into
existence in 1986 as Regional Engineering College,
and later upgraded to National Institute of
Technology. The Institute offers Bachelor, Master,
and Doctoral programs in Engineering, Sciences,
Architecture, Management, and Humanities.

Computing came into existence in August-2009.
Previously, this department was a part of the formerly

department of Applied Sciences & Humanities, which NIT Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh,
came into existence in 1986. Presently this department India, 177005
has 12 regular faculty members from diverse areas of
specialization in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational
Research, Image Processing and Cryptography &
Network Security. The department offers B.Tech four-
year program in Mathematics and Computing since
2020, M.Sc. in Mathematics & Scientific Computing
and Ph.D. in various specializations of Mathematics,
Statistics & Cryptography.
