Necessary tools
To make the laser cutter you will need the following tools.

- Hammer
- Allen key’s
- Screw driver

Page | 5
Assembly instructions

X carriage
Take the 3D printed part Laser mount also take 2x linear bearings LM8UU
Ø8mm.

Hand press the linear bearings into the 3D printed part. The linear bearings
shut be roughly in the middle.

Page | 6
Assembly instructions

Take the following 3D printed parts X carriage left, X carriage motor

support, also take 2 linear rods 450mm Ø8.

Lay the 3D printed part X carriage motor support under the linear rods.
Take the hammer and carefully tap the linear rod(s) until they don’t go
deeper in the hole. When that’s done slide in the laser mount (like in the
picture). Finally you tap the 3D printed part X carriage left in place, it has to
be flush with the linear rods (orient it like in the picture).

Assembly instructions

Take the following parts limit switch and 2 IFI 502 2.2 x 0.8 x10 bolt.

First press the limit switch on the 3D printed part X carriage left. When
that’s done you screw in place the 2 IFI 502 2.2 x 0.8 x10 bolts with a screw
driver.

Assembly instructions

Take the following parts stepper motor and 4x ISO 4762 M3 x 20

Assemble the stepper motor with the 4 bolts and tighten them with the
Allen key.

Page | 9
Assembly instructions

Take the following parts 1x ISO 4762 M3 x 16, 2x F623ZZ Ø10 bearing and 1x
BS 3692 M3 nut.

Assemble the bearings into the slot by using the bolt and to the other side a
nut. Tighten it with the Allen key.

Assembly instructions

Now take 2x LM8LUU Ø8mm linear bearings.

Press the bearings into the holes until they are flush with the 3D printed
parts.

Assembly instructions

Y pulley supports
Take the 3D printed parts 2x Pulley support

First lay one of the two parts on the aluminum extrusion profile. When that
is done tap the part gently until it is flush with the aluminum extrusion
profile. Repeat this step for the other side.

Assembly instructions

Y motor support
Take the 3D printed parts y motor support left and y motor support right.

First lay one of the two parts on the aluminum extrusion profile. When that
is done tap the part gently until it is flush with the aluminum extrusion
profile. Repeat this step for the other side.

P a g e | 13
Assembly instructions

Now take 2x stepper motors and 8x ISO 4762 M3 x 10.

Assemble the motors by screwing them in place with the Allen key. Make
sure the motors are facing upwards with the cable connections.

P a g e | 14
Assembly instructions

Now take 2x pulley Ø16 - GT2 20 teeth.

Assemble the 2 pulleys on the shafts of the motors. When ready tighten the
2 setscrews with the Allen key.

P a g e | 15
Assembly instructions

Y carriage left
Take the 3D printed part linear support and the Aluminum extrusion profile
500mm.

Lay the 3D printed part on top of the extrusion profile and use the hammer
to carefully hammer it flush with the extrusion profile. Pay attention to the
orientation of the 3D printed part the small hole should be pointing to the
right.

P a g e | 16
Assembly instructions

Take the linear rod 500mm Ø8.

Use the hammer to carefully hammer the linear rod into the 3D printed part.

P a g e | 17
Assembly instructions

Y carriage right
Take the 3D printed part linear support with limit switch mount and the
Aluminum extrusion profile 500mm.

Lay the 3D printed part on top of the extrusion profile and use the hammer
to carefully hammer it flush with the extrusion profile.

P a g e | 18
Assembly instructions

Take the linear rod 500mm Ø8.

Use the hammer to carefully hammer the linear rod into the 3D printed part.

P a g e | 19
Assembly instructions

Now take 2x IFI 502 2.2 x 0.8 x10 bolt and 1 limit switch.

Press the limit switch onto the 3D printed part and screw the 2 bolts tight
with the screwdriver.

P a g e | 20
Assembly instructions

Y pulley
Take the following 3D printed parts 2x Pulley diameter 16mm and 4x Pulley
spacer. Also take 4x SKF 618/5 Ø10 bearings.

First press the Pulley spacers into the bearings, then you press the bearings
into the pulleys. You need to make 2 of these.

P a g e | 21
Assembly instructions

X / Y Frame
Take the assemblies X carriage, Y carriage left and Y carriage right.

Insert the X carriage onto the linear rods, make sure that the orientation is
like in the picture.

P a g e | 22
Assembly instructions

Now you need to get the following 3D printed parts 2x linear rod support.

Hammer the 3D printed parts carefully onto the y carriage. Pay attention to
the orientation of the 3D printed parts, the small hole needs to be facing to
the laser mount!

P a g e | 23
Assembly instructions

Grab the following parts 4x Corner attachments for 30x30 profile, 8x

Attachment slots for 30x30 profile and 8x BS 4168 M5 x 10 bolt.

Insert the Attachment slots in the extrusion profiles. When done, you lay the
Corner attachments on top. And screw the bolts into the Attachment slots,
tighten it down with the Allen key.

P a g e | 24
Assembly instructions

Now you have to take 2 assembled Y pulleys and 2x ISO 4762 M3 x 30 bolts.

Put the assembled pulleys between the pulley support and linear rod
support and attach them by screwing a bolt through it. Tighten the bolts
with the Allen key.

P a g e | 25
Assembly instructions

Take the GT2 belt for assembly. Make sure that they are equal length on the
y axis, if there is not enough tension you can loosen Y motor support and
pull it back until it is tensioned enough, then tighten it back down.

Assembly instructions

Motherboard housing
To assemble the motherboard housing you need to have the motherboard
housing and motherboard lid 3D printed.

Slide the top into the housing, you can rout the cables trough the top hole.

P a g e | 27
Assembly instructions

Screen mount
For the almost final assembly take screen and the 3D printed part screen
housing.

Slide the screen in and glue it at the corners.

P a g e | 28
Assembly instructions

For this assembly you need the assembled Motherboard housing and the
assembled screen. Glue the screen onto the lid of the motherboard housing.

To assemble the part onto the frame is very easy just tilt the motherboard
housing and slide it in.

Congratulations

U now have a fully assembled laser cutter except for the laser module and
the wiring but I leave that up to you. If you used the Anet components I also
have the firmware for your motherbeard.
