Web Scenario 3: The Basilisk Nests

By Chris Negelein, “VonEther”

With the Night of Mists, new creatures strange and terrible wander the land, some possessing abilities that might be harnessed. Your liege has
ordered you to collect basilisk eggs to raise and train for war. But it seems another army has similar ideas

Victory Objectives
90-minute time limit. Be the first to gain 21 victory points and/or eliminate all of the opponent’s units. If a unit commands control terrain for two
turns, then returns onto (not adjacent to) its original deployment zone, it will be considered to have “captured a basilisk egg.” Players gain victory
points in the following ways:

Points Condition
3 For capturing a basilisk egg.
2 For eliminating an enemy formation unit.
1 For eliminating an enemy sortie unit.
1 For eliminating an enemy commander figure (yellow).

Army Size/Composition
Two-player game; one player per side; 7,000-point build total; 8 order points per turn (4 order points
per ambush turn).
Cross-Faction Penalty
Different empires can work together when necessary, but they cannot do so with great efficiency. Therefore, if your army contains units from more
than one faction (excluding mercenaries, whom anyone can employ without penalty), you get 1 less order point each turn.
Battlefield Condition
MUD—Unit movement is reduced by one. Units that contain at least one ready figure with two pegs will have their movement reduced by two.
Units that contain at least one ready figure with three or more pegs will have their movement reduced by three. In any case, movement is reduced
to a minimum of one.

Preparing the Battlefield: Place terrain as indicated below. No additional terrain is placed.
