She studies English on Saturday mornings. So, last Saturday she


studied English, She cleans her house on Sundays. So, last Sunday
she cleaned her house. She cooks at night every day because she
doesn’t like the fast food,. So, she cooked yesterday for sure.

Rita likes to paint on Wednesdays and obviously, last Wednesday


she painted. She watches TV in the mornings every day and today
in the morning…. She watched TV.

WRITING
Change the next story in simple past adding “ed” to the verbs.

Es muy fácil saber identificar los verbos regulares en pasado ya que como te das cuenta solo se le
aumenta “ed” al final del verbo.
Ejemplo:
Presente Watch Cook Climb Wait
Pasado Watched Cooked Climed Waited

Sin embargo existe una regla para la pronunciación de la terminación “ed”

1.- Cuando el sonido del verbo termina en: K, P, SH, CH, S, X, se pronuncia………./t/
Ejemplo: Fix en pasado es “fixed” pero pronuncia “fixt”
Jump en pasado es “jumped” pero pronuncia “yompt”
Wash en pasado es “washed” pero pronuncia “washt”

2.- Cuando el sonido final del verbo es: “D” o “T” se pronuncia………. /Id/
Ejemplo: Paint en pasado se escribe “painted” pero se pronuncia “paintId”
Need en pasado se escribe “needed” pero se dice “needId”

3.- La pronunciación para todos los demás verbos regulares es……… /d/
Ejemplo: Love en pasado es “loved” pero se dice “lovd”
Listen en pasado es “listened” pero se dice “lisend”

El pasado simple se usa para dar información de algún hecho que empezó y termino.
Ejemplo:
I went to the stadium yesterday = Yo fui al estadio ayer.
Today, I woke up at 6:00am = Hoy me desperte a las 6:00am.

Para expresar ideas en pasado es importante asegurarse que usemos los verbos en esta forma.

GRAMMAR BLAST Simple Past negative form


Cuando queremos decir que algo NO sucedió debemos usar “ didn’t ” en nuestra idea.
Ya que en prsesnte usamos “don’t” y pasado de “don’t” es “didn’t”
Ejemplo: Presente: I don’t go to school on vacations = No voy a la escuela en vacaciones.
Pasado: I didn’t go to the school on vacations = No fui a la escuela en vacaciones.

* Recuerda que NO es necesario cambiar el verbo en pasado ya que lo que cambiamos en pasado fue “don’t” por
su pasado…. “didn’t” asi que no es necesario usar verbos en pasado

Xavier Lopez Rodriguez was born on February 17th, 1935. He is a Mexican comedian and actor who
invented “Chabelo” but before He was Chabelo, He acted in different films and TV programs. He created
a contest program for children in 1968 which is broadcasted in channel 2 with the name “In family
with Chabelo. He participated in the serie “Los simuladores” as the Teacher Mariategui and got the
prize “Special Silver Pinus”. In 2005 he won the “Legend Award”.

“In family with Chabelo” gave him the opportunity to have an eternal childhood, In the past, he acted in
movies in but one day he quit and started on channel 5 with a person called “Tio Gamboin”and adopted
the soul of a kid.

The dark past of Chabelo was to act in movies for adults saying
“albures” and jokes however Chabelo started to sing songs in his
program and he recorded many albums, he became famous when he
sang a song with the name “Bye-Bye Superman.

Nowadays, Chabelo is a Mexican legend for adult and children.

Xavier Lopez “Chabelo” was born in Leon, Guanajuato. He studied medicine when he was young
however he didn’t imagine his destiny was on TV. His neighbor worked in a radio station as a
producer and he invited “Chabelo” to work with him.

When he was 17, He worked and studied at the same time, he had problems in his body frequently like,
stomachaches, headaches, etc. he made the decision to stop going to school and worked all day on the
TV station.

He started to take acting lessons when he was 19 years old. One day Tio Gamboin discovered his
talent and invited him to act on a TV show.

Recuerdas como se hacen preguntas en presente? Ejemplo: Do you study English at Penfield?
Usamos “DO” como auxiliar para identificar que estamos hablando del ahora (Presente).
El pasado de “DO” es . . . “DID” entonces para preguntar en pasado usaremos “Did” al principio de
nuestra pregunta.

Ejemplo: Do you work in a radio station? = Trabajas en una estación de radio? (PRESENTE)
Did you work in a radio station? = Trabajaste en una estación de radio? (PASADO)

Do you study medicine? = Estudias medicina? (PRESENTE)
