HS-CI-ULP Assignment 2

Reflection on prescription principles


Starting date: March 11th– Due date: March 22th (From week 5 to end of 6)
Expected feedback date: March 29th
Teacher: Nicolás Muñoz

This assignment aims to reflect on the previous assignments about principles of Upper limb prosthesis
(ULP) prescriptions, to allow some reflections and improvements as they progress in the subject. Students
will reflect through the analysis of the previous assignment case scenarios.

Learning objectives:
Upon completion of this assignment, students will be able to:
 Reflect on the prescription criteria for ULP Socket and suspension systems.
 Apply improvements and self-critique on prescription principles using correct arguments.

Instructions
In this individual assignment, you are asked to review your previous assignment considering the feedback
comments as well as the new information provided in the subject. It is a written assignment submitted in
word or PDF format, with a maximum of 3 pages (including visuals and font size 11).

Your assignment needs to include:


 Corrections from the previous assignment: Take your previous assignment and modify and
improve it based on the feedback comments on the rubric you received
 Include any new components you consider: Include any new components or systems you
consider for the same case.
 A full alternative prescription: Formulate a full alternative prescription based on what you have
learned since the last assignment. The cases from the previous assignment are used.
 Justify your prescription based on evidence: give your reasons of your decision-making progress.

Notes:
 You are encouraged to use internet sources for the prescription. Just make sure to mention from
where you got the information (add it in the bibliography)
 Take the same submission file and make all the needed changes. The new part of the assignment
should be added just below, in the same file.
 If you consider it appropriate, use pictures or drawings to support your answers
 Assume that there are no economic restrictions in your case.
 Remember that you are asked to provide a prescription for two cases
 Summarize and provide only essential information, find the balance between too little and too
much detail
